I went and got a bag of milk...

haha -  i was thinking about our bagged milk the other day in the grocery store.  It never occurred to me that it was weird until a cousin from California was visiting and marvelling over it.    We have whole product lines devoted to supporting milk in a bag - special jugs, cutters, we even have a bag organizer where we can put the tab with the expiration date.  Weird.

But then, I thought milk in tetrapaks in France were weird ...

I know you were on about slang and such but i was actually thinking about milk the other day ... i know, my exciting life.

lol, i learn something new every day.  I've never in my life heard of bagged milk.

I'm so sheltered. 

Same in Alberta.   Growing up in Ontario and Quebec, bagged milk was an essential part of life.  When I moved to Texas, it was one of the things I missed...    When I moved back to Canada (Calgary) I was very excited at the prospect of getting bagged milk again.  But no!!!  Denied by the milk gods.

Another classic Canadian dead giveaway... "Could you please pass me a serviette?  I spilled my poutine on the chesterfield"

Glad someone cleared up the bag of milk thing.  I have only ever lived in Alberta so even though I know what you are talking about it wouldn't be a common thing at all for me.  I thought at first maybe it was an old people thing......haaha........now i must grab my toque and head out for the day.  Maybe I will have lobster poutine for lunch then chase it down with a double double from Timmy's. 

Later on we can bring a 2-4 down to the ringette game!   Everybody chips in a loonie.

(No joke about the toque, by the way... nice layer of snow in Calgary this AM!)

I grew up in Ontario - I know all about the bagged milk, and the special plastic jugs everyone has to buy to hold their milk. I remember when I had cousins visiting from BC, they'd be very confused about why I was bringing home 4 L of milk home in a jiggly bag!

A(n American) friend of mine is staying at our house for a few days a week while she's doing some work involving culverts, streams and trout. We were talking about Americans like to point out how Canadians say "oot and aboot" (we don't, really) and I was telling her we don't say "troot" either. Now we've got a joke about her spending her days "oot and aboot tagging troot".

Apparently it's even more regional than I know ... it really only applies to buying the biggest size - 4L - it comes in the bag and has three smaller clear bags inside it.

For the last time -- it's not "oot and aboot".   It's "oat and aboat"!   

Now, I'm off to Come by Chance to buy some beaver tails.

Couple years ago, right before I did my IM, I found a Toonie on my last run. I do believe I'm gonna keep that one for life and it's now out of circulation

haha - Twoonies are still in circulation.   I do have one of the old two dollar bills tucked away somewhere ... 

We just started removing the penny... those are now really valuable. 

My uncle likes to tip in loonies and twoonies when he's in the 'States - i think he thinks he's being funny ...

Isn't she from BC?   Bagged milk is an Ontario / Quebec thing.   People from Vancouver will substitute BC Bud.

So you mean you never had one of these?
