Early end to my season

Doh!  Really sorry to hear that!

Rest up, recover and hope things heal up well and that the bike is fixable.  The thing about arm breaks is that you can still ride on the trainer though and just not put an weight on the arm.  Always gotta look for the silver lining!

Dang!  I'm sorry to hear that.  I was looking forward to racing with you a couple of times this year.  I hope you heal quickly!

If it's not too painful to remember, can you share some of the details about how you crashed so others among us can hopefully avoid such a situation? Was it road conditions, paceline, etc.? Or was it just a "freak" accident (they definitely happen.)

I was riding side by side with another rider and saw a car approaching from behind us, moved ahead and singled up, but caught a really small wind gust and got off onto the shoulder of the road.  Twitched back towards the road and caught the lip between the gravel shoulder and the road.  Game over.

You kidding B?  The bike was my number 1 concern.  I've been told it's fine.

Bones heal by themselves.     bikes..   not so much.

I broke my arm in late January.  With a great physical therapist and a doctor who understood my need to get back to working out quickly, I raced in May.  I had surgery, which dramatically increased the healing time. 

Best of luck to you.  I hope you have a speedy recovery.  Be upfront with your doctor and care team about what your expectations are and be careful to listen to their suggestions for workouts.  It took a long time for me to do pushups, but I was running in my splint.

Yep. That definitely sucks, but as others have said, with every closed door another one opens. Thanks to my reckless younger days, I have had a broken wrist, dislocated shoulder, and 4 capped teeth in front, and road rash too many times to count (all from different accidents). Hope you heal quickly.
