Is it too early to start thinking about a February challenge? I don't think so!

So.... the idea of this challenge is simple - to STICK TO YOUR PLAN, whatever that is.

Set your goals for time or distance in any or all of the following categories: swim, bike, run, strength.

My goals, based on what's in my workout plan for February:

Swim: 15,000 yards

Bike: 9 hours

Run: 60 miles

Strength: 3.5 hours

Who wants to join me??

Well, considering that I plan to "stick-to-my-plan" from now through Lake Placid, that's all I'm planning to do. So, I'm in. Have to see what the plan calls for.

Works fo me.  Will post my plan from week to week in my blog but essentially it's a balanced 3x/week in each sport with core and PT/yoga in the mix too.

I'm interested.  I don't have the numbers yet, but my duathlon training plan will start on 2/2.  I'll need some motivation to stick to it.  I haven't been doing well on that lately.

My first challenge!!!!!!!! Looking forward to it.
My February consists of a rest week (my Build period doesn't line up directly with the January month), 2 full weeks, and a taper week before a Sprint Tri.

Goals

Swim: 312mins (~10km's)
Bike: 780mins (~312km's)
Run: 468mins (~47km's)

The goal is to reach the time, but the distances are just approximates, going by my average speeds.

These times include my race, which hopefully won't take all that long!

Good luck to everyone.

Totally in.  I need the motivation and accountability to others to keep me focused.  I have some ideas for Feb.  They involve the typical biking, running and swimming, but I am in for weight loss too.  I am going to give serious thought to what my actul goals are.  I will be back.

  • Bike 4hr 29min
  • Run  1hr 59min
  • 9 core-focused strength training sessions (2hr 15min)
  • Finish the 100 push-ups challenge

Here are my goals:

swim- 10,000 yards
bike - 170 miles
run - 50 miles

I think the hardest one for me will be the swim.... I have to force myself to go...but this also includes the 7 days off I have for Mardi Gras and will swim everday!

Count me in.  Coincidentally my training plan starts up Feb 1.  I'll need to refer to it to set up some goals.

Yes, it should all be reasonable.  But in January I only got in less than 24 miles on the bike and less than 5 in the swim.  I should revisit the run because I did get in 55 miles on the run and I didn't run nearly enough.  So maybe I will make the run 75 miles and keep the bike at 150 miles and the swim at 10 miles.
