I've had the best fit luck with Nike, but they have tended to compress in the forefoot badly. Same thing with the Saucony's I've had recently as well. Just a byproduct of my running style, I guess. No one makes ployurethane midsoles any more.
Well, there is ONE Nike model that uses urethane, but I haven't been able to tell whether it's a full urethane midsole, or just urethane plugs in the heel. I find it interesting that virtually ALL the research and money in shoes goes into the heel, and almost none of it goes into the forefoot (I'm a fore- to mid-foot striker ).
