Subject: RE: Pushup challenge?I'm in. Although I should warn you, I don't do actual pushups, I just push the earth down. I think pushups are a great exercise, but man, I really don't enjoy them. So, this should keep me motivated. Is everyone just going to set a goal and shoot for that or has someone come up with a way to determine a "winner" of this thing? I saw percentage improvement was not workable since it would favor folks who start with a low number. Likewise, those who start low have little to no hope of being able to do the most in a set in just a month. How about this? Assign equal weight to: 1. total pushups in max set (i.e. how many you can do in a row before falling on your face), 2. percentage improvement in a max set (e.g. 10 to 20 = 100 percent improvement), and 3. total number of pushups done in the month. For example, assume there are 10 of us. The person who makes the most percentage improvement gets a 10, least gets a 1. Same scoring for max number in a set and total pushups during the month. If you're tops in all three, you get a 30. But, I can't see that happening as someone with a big jump in percentage probably started low and won't be able to do the most out of the group and vice versa. Yes, I am a big nerd. |
