i find it very hot wearing such suit to race at high temp. or high humidity countries.

are there other alternatives to this standard look ?

e.g. less covering the body enable better ventilation

You could always wear tri-shorts, and a sports-bra (well, one that would work to race in).

You don't want to feel hot. I would not wear a wetsuit. A tri-suit or even a bathing suit with shorts over top. What ever you choose you should try it out before a race.

Tri stuff does come in two-piece options. Tri shorts and a tri top. Many of the tri tops are shorter, or even a bra-style top which obviously cover much less. I'm wearing one in my avatar, Zoot brand.

can u point me to some webpages that have such styles ?

i find it difficult to locate small size men tops

i saw before that some men top are small as sport bras, funny

Also is there a tri top that is designed to pull out from swim truck after the swim leg ?

thanks

Are you confusing a tri wetsuit with a tri-suit? Many tri-suits come with a zipper down the front to ventilate (look at the race finish photos thread to see LOTS of examples). Seriously, I can't imagine getting so overheated wearing a zipped down tri-top or a shirt pulled up and over your head that you wouldn't be overehated naked (and thus should probably stop!). Or, go naked on top, unless your race doesn't allow it.

no, i guess you have not seen my post that shown a one piece tri-suit

we must wear a top to race here,
so i am looking for a top as small as possible for hot weather

After watching the Olympics, i think women swimming suit is a lot cooler then the men tri suit.

Seems all men are without choice(they have to wear it as team uniform representing their own country ) but have to wear a standard tri-suit (cover front and back and legs above the knee) ??

and i am amaze to see people can still wear this suit in hot countries like Singapore and Malaysia.

They don't sweat or feel the heat ??

That's what I do! I find tri shirts to be hot!

Vrindavan where abouts are you from that a tri suit would be too hot to wear in a race?

It gets pretty damn hot here and I'm just fine in my trisuit.  I can't see much difference between a trisuit and tri top and shorts?

Plus with heat there is always the Sun burn risk so the more skin covered on your torso the better protected you are from sunstroke or heat stroke.

I live in the tropics, so in the hot humidity year round.
The best I have used so far in a tri top with a zipper at the front that goes all the way down to about the belly button. (I have a 2 piece outfit, but a one piece would be the same)
For the swim and bike keep it closed. For the run open it up

Hong Kong

>> I can't see much difference between a trisuit and tri top and shorts?

i think it is super hot during the running leg in a men tri-suit

the best for running is a lose light weight running singlet with many small holes for breathing. but not possible during a tri race

>> more skin covered

but tight clothing vs loose clothing is the difference

Simondk, thanks for your suggestion, what is that brand ? Is that suit in the pic just a top only ? not include the bike short ?

Also , will tri-suit brand or material also make a difference on cooling and skin breathing ??

I'm not exactly getting the point of the question.  Lots of people on BT come from very hot and very humid areas and wear tri suits or tri shorts with separate tops (I don't see the difference there anyway) without a problem.  You unzip the top during the bike or run to get better ventilation.

It seems like you're answering your own question though.  You want to wear something loose fitting, so just do that.  You'll have to change in transition though.

My top is the Louis Garneau Men's Pro Tank Top. (and I use a DeSoto tri shorts with it)
The Men's Pro Tri suit from Louis Garneau has the same zipper design.

I'm sure other brands have such zippers too.

Kramer and Mr. Costanza designed one called "the Mansier or Bro" but the prototype never caught on...
