I got my first real road bike! Yipee! I guess people name their bikes. What should I name mine? (By the way...she's a she, since it is a women's model!)

How about the Trek, or the roadie.

I'm not one of those bike naming people

What ever you decide, nice bike!

I would go with something like Silver Arrow or something like that.

It is very white, silver, and Bright!

I don't know,  just looking at the picture "Star" comes to mind, the white the silver and the hint of color.

Ooh...I love the whole astronomy angle. Maybe something with the word "supernova" in it. I'll have to work on that!

Powder
Or some stripper name because she looks clean and classy now but she likes to get down and dirty!

Or I could combine the astronomy thing with the stripper thing and call her "Candy Supernova" or "Dirty Stardust" or something!

following the astronomy angle, I would say Dark Matter, but the bike is far from dark, so that doesn't work, nor does black hole. hmmm...

Saturnalia?
Red Shift?

oh wait.. Blue Shift on the front, to indicate you are moving toward another rider, and redshift on the back, to indicate you are pulling away from them. Hmm. I like that idea, thing is, a lot of bike nerds would get it. Heh.

Good luck naming her. I still have yet to settle on a name for my bike which I got 9 months ago. It was Lindsey Lohan cause she kept acting up in the early days.. but not so much anymore, so that no longer works.

How about Silver ala Lone Ranger?  Then every time you rode it, you could scream, hi ho silver...away!  Plus you could also wear a bandit mask for extra affect.

Don't name your bike. Or, if you must, don't tell anyone.

But if are going to anyway...then, name your bike "Jill".

"Joc and Jill went up the hill..." OK, nevermind.

Shadowfax.  If I had a white bike, Thats what I'd call it.

Names for my bikes..    Tequesta triple triangle Hardtail MTB is "Mr T", or 'the T'.  My full suspension cannondale MTB is "The redbird". and I havent decided on the final name for my tribike, its between "the Pro", "the bull" or  'Diablo' (b/c of the aerobars).

I like where your heads at! Or just call it Chuck Norris... then again no, because your bike will just round house you in the face anytime you try to mount it.

I would think it would be required that you wear the Zorro mask!

-Chris

PS: I would go with "Halley" as in Halley's Comet if you dig the astronomy thing plus it's a decent stripper name!

I don't even know how to respond to this and can't believe you wrote it. I started this thread as a funny way to contemplate silly bike names. Your suggestion is neither funny nor appropriate. It is only hurtful.
