Brent Schulte and Chris Zimmer are racing Ironman CDA today.  If there are any other Georgians post them here so we can follow them online.

Thanks

btw, Schulte did the swim in 1:02 and Zimmer was 36:08 for the first half.

This is from Brent's logs:

Ok, time to lay out the goals for this Ironman:
1.  No Walking (as with every race)
2.  Follow Nutrition Plan to a T
3.  Deal with wind positively on the bike (don't let it get to my head)
Times
Swim      1:00
T1            :05
Bike       5:35
T2            :03
Run        3:27
Total    10:10

Last year 10:15 got in with 1 roll-down, 10:20 with 3 roll-downs.  10:10 should get it done without a roll-down, conditions equal to last year.  Wind and rain sound like will be the variables as the mid 80's predicted earlier are now mid 70's with chance of rain.  I'm most concerned about the bike time.  To hit it I may fry my legs for the run.

Chris told me he hoped to be in the low 10 hour range.

Gerry Halphen is from Alpharetta and a Sport Factory guy. #1221

He is good friends wtih my massage therapist, Michelle Shoup.

Gerry is trying for a Kona slot.

Good luck to Gerry, Zim & Brent! These dudes are fast.

Maybe I'll learn something from them if I have the courage to hit "enter" tomorrow.

Ric is having a very strong race so far, Chris had a ridiculous bike split, and Brent is right on track (especially with the strength of his running). We may have a few locals going to Kona if all the stars align!

Wow! There are some STUPID fast times up there this year. Gerry's 9:58 was only good for 11th AG so he *might* get a Kona slot. I think Brent ended up 33rd and Zimmer was 48th and they had awesome races.  Angela Meyer (who is one of our Sportfactory athletes) won F25-29 AG with a 10:48, so she is Hawaii bound. Wicked fast race this year.

Did the video crap out on anyone else? I missed Gerry, Brent and Chris finishing.

...and note that the weather was less than ideal: significant chop on the swim, cold on the bike and wet/cold for the run.

Great job all!
