This question is probably more out of nervousness than anything but I have to ask:  do you change into your tri-suit at the event or drive to the event in your tri-suit?

After I drop the kids off at the pool.  I always drive to the event in my suit.

What if you had bike trouble or ran out of time?  That is the last thing I want to worry about

Put it on before I leave the house.  One less thing to deal with when I get to the race site.

i put my on at home, half way on, with the top hanging down on my hips.  than I put some gym shorts over that have pockets as you'll want to carry some stuff around with easy access (keys, papers, gels, money...) and a t-shirt.

than, right before I get my wet suit on, I zipp up the tri-suit and put the shorts/t-shirt in my bag.

I find this much more comfortable than zipping up the tri suit at home.  plus, y our gonna have to go the the bathroom anyway before the race.

For me, depends on two factors

1) how far do I have to drive
2) Do they have changing rooms

1) if I am driving less than a half hour I will put it on before I leave.  Anything over an hour (I also arrive very early to my race) I will wait till I arrive.

2) If there are changing rooms or a changing area (not just bathroom stalls) I'll put it on there no matter how far I have to drive.

I usually put everything on at the home...tri suit, wet suit, bike shoes, helmet with the swim cap underneath.  this way it eliminates forgetting anything else.

i prefer to ride the bike to the race this way, so i won't forget anything.  Sealed

At least your HR is pumping by the time you get to the race so who needs a warm-up........

I always drive with my tri-suit...and...if it's a cold morning (here...only in Dec, Jan, Feb) use a long sleeve shirt and long tigh...and...I bring clothe to change after the Race...

Sounds like eveyone is basically in agreement.  I put it on in the house/hotel and drive to the event in it.  I usually cover up with sweat pants or tee shirt though.

Due to a shipping mishap with UPS the tri-suit didn't show up until today and it doesn't fit.  Now I'm getting a little stressed about the event tomorrow.  Do I wear a swimsuit and put biking shorts on during transition?  Do I wear the biking shorts under the suit to minimize transition time?

Just looking for opinions.

Thanks again!

If it is a sprint tri, i would not worry about biking shorts.

Yes, it's a sprint-tri; I have Jammers.  Should I just swim/bike/run in those?

Yep.  You'll waste quite a bit of time trying to get bike shorts on in T1, not to mention they probably won't be too comfy to run in.  Have a great race!
