Champion  10157    Alabama |  Subject: Salute to Bob Stocks - BT IronmanI know a lot of BTers never make it off this board so I wanted to re-post something that one of our fellow BTers posted on the Ironman board last night after he completed Ironman Lake Placid. Bob (rstocks3) epotimizes the spirit of BT and the spirit of a true competitor who never forgets the human factor. I've raced with Bob before and after he was done, he came back out on the course to run with and encourage me and some other BTers. I am honored to know Bob and proud that he is a BTer! I hope we all can keep racing triathlons in perspective the way Bob does. ~Mike

He broke his collarbone and has a concussion, but will be okay. Other than the heartbreak of the DNF of course. His girlfriend finished; she didn't know until she was on the second loop of the run and even then our coach debated telling her until she was finished. Thanks Bob! |
