Are these things you drink regularly or just would like to drink regularly?  Seems like expensive tastes but then again I am pretty cheap.

Diet Coke with lemon
Jack and diet Coke
Beer - not a snob just make sure it is cold

proper Beefeater dry gin martini on the rocks, 3 olives- newbies must drink 2. The first you might not like, the second is crack. Leave the Bombay gins etc. for another time.

Chocolate milk (particularly after workouts)

An aged old world style good Chateauneuf/Gigondas, Barolo/Barabresco, and St. Julien/Margaux. Fine out what the fuss is all about.

Orangina. (Now available in diet form in Europe)

fresh squeezed orange juice from really good oranges

Oooh, I'll have to do the salted kind the next time I make hot chocolate. Another variation: spicy hot chocolate. And if you've never had seriously thick, luxurious hot chocolate, give this recipe a try. I should warn you that it might be really disappointing to go back to instant.

Really, really good Champagne. Best way to do this, in my experience, is to be very good friends with someone whose family is really into wine and collects a lot of it.

x2 on the absinthe. Still working on that one myself.

Tom & Jerry.

Root beer floats are must-try. I haven't had one in years, I just think they're so classic. (Of course, now I want to go make one.)

Absinthe, by itself, is extremely anise-y, a little bitter, and very high-proof. Don't do shots of it straight. The traditional sugarcube and cold water treatment tames the beast a bit, but I prefer it as a glass-wash for sazeracs. Great color, though. It sort of glows.

I can't resist:

- a Starbucks mocha (I don't like coffee, but these things are like crack to me)
- a glass (or two, or three) of good red wine - preferably some kind of Syrah or Shiraz, but I'll take a good Pinot Noir or blend too)
- a "madkat" diabla (recipe below)
- tea (iced or hot, I don't care, as long as it's sugar-sweetened and very strong)
- rootbeer (I like Abita Springs, Barqs and the local brew pubs home-brewed stuff)

Madkat Diabla
ice
vodka (about 2-3 ounces)
a splash of Rose's sweetened lime
a splash of Creme de Cassis
and a bottle of good gingerbeer (I like Bundaberg)
mix in a large tumbler or split between two pint glasses

I want to try real, genuine Absinthe. I have had the "American" stuff... no wormwood oil. I thought it was quite good with the sugar cube and water prep.

Definitely a water guy.

But, as a side offer, I'll go with a decent micro brew, or a Beam and Coke (non-diet).
