Pro 4174 Keller, Texas | Subject: Biggest Loser 5-18 SPOILERS Wow, Daris busting out a 4:05 marathon. Unbelievable! Even Michael and Ashley coming in at 6:20 was great. I really want to see Daris in the final 3 |

Regular 853 | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser 5-18 SPOILERS Daris had an awesome marathon. I felt bad for him while he was eating at night and feeling really guilty about it. I trained for a marathon during the winter months and I gained some weight too. Seems like while I was training long/hard I had a lot of cravings, and since it was in the winter I went for the "comfort" food. I hope he can get a handle on the eating. Koli seems to only want to win the event. All he talks about is having confetti dropped on him at the finale. He had a hard time being in the "real" world having to go away from home to focus on the weight loss. He even promised his friends/family that he was gonna win. Ashley and Michael did really well at home. Both of them have a good chance of winning. jami |

Extreme Veteran 488 Phoenix | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser 5-18 SPOILERS I don't care what Bob and Jillian say, training for a marathon doesn't guarantee you weight loss. And as many of us here know, even training for a damn Ironman doesn't help you lose weight! I'm pulling for Daris. I think he's done great, and I think he'll go on to be a fantastic runner. |

602 | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser 5-18 SPOILERS I picked Daris to win from day one. I really thought he was gaining weight. I thought I could see it in his face. Kinda shocking, but obviously he still has some issues to resolve. I hope he gets voted in, he sure has come a long ways and it shows the struggles of many people. He seems really focused on the running. If he puts that much effort into the weight loss I think he turns this around. I was really disappointed to see some of the other contestants they brought back last night. They really gained a good amount of weight back except for Alli (sp). I kinda get frustrated with that as they were given a chance of a lifetime and then seem to let it slip. But who am I too judge...... |

Payson, AZ | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser 5-18 SPOILERS I only noticed one of them that gained any significant amount of weight, but even at that he was still lighter. I really think the show is incredibly irresponsible though for having them run a marathon. One of the dudes hit mile 13 and was like, this is the furthest I have ever run. Seriously? Only one person there was ready for that marathon and even he probably set himself up for injury. |

Extreme Veteran 605 | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser 5-18 SPOILERS Koli's drive is impressive, but it's for all the wrong reasons. I pick Daris as my horse to round out the final 3. In the end I think Michael or Ashley are strong contenders simply because they have more weight to lose at this point, and would pick Michael as the winner. |

Master 1946 Memphis, TN | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser 5-18 SPOILERS I've been a big Daris fan from day one. I hope he gets voted in and gets over his issues. The idea that he'll never have a GF is crazy. No homo here but he's a good looking cat and I'm sure there are plenty of women that would date him. If he can get over his old issues he'll be beating them off with a stick. Koli is like the guy that runs a race for the sticker on the back of your car. I think he's great but it's a lifetime thing. If you got that big once you'll have to fight it your whole life. I think once the show is over and the goal is reached it's easy to fall back on bad habits. Micheal did very well as well as Ashley. I wasn't sure how Ashley would look after the weight loss but I think she'll be a fox. She has great eyes and her mouth looks like Jillians and it works. We already had one hook up with Sam and Steph. Are Micheal and Ashley getting together? They seemed tight the whole game. I can't wait to see Steph at the finale, you could see from the beginning that she was going to be a hottie |

Extreme Veteran 493 Greer, South Carolina | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser 5-18 SPOILERS I haven’t watched it as much this season as I have in the past, but my picks from episode 1 were Michael and Ashley. Mathematically, they just seemed to be obvious picks if they could handle the work. The can both lose well over 50% of their starting weight and still be overweight. Even though some of the others were really large, none of them could lose those kinds of percentages before they hit the proverbial wall. I like Darius, but he really has very little chance to win either the at home or the overall. Koli is turning out to be what I view as the typical BL competitor. Someone who becomes obsessed with the game and who becomes likely to be unable to translate the unrealistic weight loss environment of BL into an every day maintenance plan. I hope I am wrong. |

Elite 3395 Raleigh | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser 5-18 SPOILERS I do not totally agree with the comments about Koli. From the conversation they showed between him and his Dad at breakfast it is clear he has had major self-esteem issues and his Dad's lack of emotional support are a big part of it. Koli has used the opportunity the show has provided to build up his own sense of self-worth. Yes he has had a laser-like focus on winning. But this is his way of showing he can achieve something, that he is worthwhile. Why is his intensity less deserving the Daris, who sabotaged himself? To me Koli desrves it more. |

I hear what you’re saying about Koli. I really do like him. I’m just not sure he’s ready to go home and make these changes stick just like I’m not sure Darius is ready either. I guess I’ve just become a little cynical about the whole BL process. You keep seeing these former finalists gaining their weight back. These people are put in a very controlled cocoon for months where they live and breathe the training, the severely restricted diets, and the game itself. It seems that many of them are not really learning the skills they need to transition back to real life and live a balanced life while maintaining their weight. I see a lot of myself in these people. About 5 years ago I set a goal to lose weight and complete a sprint triathlon. I lost 50lbs and finished 4 sprint tri’s that year. Yet, once I met my goal I relaxed and went right back to my old habits and gained the weight back. It’s taken some pretty severe health issues for me to get back in the game and try to really change my lifestyle this time. I see that same focus in Koli when it comes to “winning” the game. I see that in Darius when it came to “winning’ the marathon and setting the record for the best time. I just worry that these guys are going to have a difficult time making these changes stick. Yet, in spite of all this, I still enjoy the show and watch it. |

Elite 3395 Raleigh | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser 5-18 SPOILERS I agree with you BigBoy. Is seems about 1/2 the former contestants gain back some of the weight. 1/2 do keep it off but most of those seem to go into the trainer profession thereby keeping up with working out a lot. I also agree that the show does not appear to give the contestants the skills to incorporate the ranch-life into the real world. They CANNOT work out6hrs/day in the real world. They have other obligations. First and foremost this is a GAME show! Hopefully a couple of the shows coming on this summer or next season will be better. |

Elite 3088 Austin, TX | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser 5-18 SPOILERS My vote is for Koli. In the earlier parts of the season, it's about who should stay there. Who really needs what the ranch provides? If it was still that point, I'd say the answer is pretty clearly Daris. But at this point, it's about who should win. Daris is great and I hope he finds out soon that his days of not having a girlfriend are LONG gone. I don't think he deserves a shot at winning, though. Koli, on the other hand, has worked liked crazy week in and week out to get where he is. He didn't resort to gameplay or backstabbing. As for romances, they've already shown Sam and Stephanie, but did anybody else catch the very brief interplay between Koli and Sunshine a couple of weeks ago during the weigh in? |

Extreme Veteran 799 | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser 5-18 SPOILERS I think Koli got into this for all of the right reasons, and now that he has a chance to make $250,000 he is focusing on that. Who in their right mind wouldn't? Earlier in the season Michael set up teams so they would be in his favor, but again who wouldn't. I get that losing weight is supposed to be the main goal, but $250,000 can buy a whole lot of help in helping you keep that weight off. The only thing that disappointed me about Koli was only finishing 20 minutes before Michael and Ashley and his smaller amount of weight loss. Not sure what he was eating at the MMA training camp, but he had a major advantage over the others that just went home. Wish he was able to capitalize on that. |

Veteran 297 Kansas | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser 5-18 SPOILERS I think someone touched on it, but it was disappointing to see the former contestants that had packed some pounds back on. I think it is reasonable to suspect that some weight will be gained after the finale, but Eric and Sione did more than just gain 15-20 back. While its good they spend the final 90 days at home, its difficult to overcome, I would assume, the emotional let down after the finale and trying to stay motivated. Ally seems to have figured it out by endorsing the products and essentially continuing to be a spokeman for the show and its by-products. I also though the trainers were a bit harsh with Daris about not losing weight while training for the marathon. Both Bob and Jillian have both admitted neither has done a marathon. While you can certainly lose weight in training, if you are not used to and conditioned to understand the calorie cravings your mind and body will inflict on you while preparing for such an event, I was not shocked at all to see Daris stay static in his weight. |

301 | Subject: RE: Biggest Loser 5-18 SPOILERS Biggest Loser...the only TV show I watch in a week...It was interesting to see Koli run from home as soon as the going got tough. I truly wonder what will happen once he goes home and really has to get back to daily life. Due to his stint in Vegas, I was almost happy to see him below that yellow line. He tried to truly play the game and it back fired. As for Daris, he struggled at home and that might have been good long term. Daris learned that you have to stick to it or you can gain it all back very quickly. Excited about the final fellow BTers? I'm excited to see Shea again! |
