Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Maybe go with tri shorts & top instead of a swimsuit? |
![]() ![]() |
Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Well, I'm 5'9" so even though I've got long legs, we're probably comparable. Also an athletic build (aka built a little like a boy with boobs) with no hips and strong legs. To ME, it sounds like your suit is gigantic sized and probably can't "hold" anywhere because it's too loose. I'd size down to probably a 36 at MOST. I currently wear a Speedo suit that I don't love except for the colour/pattern. What fits me best is either TYR or Nike as they seem to have longer bodies. Good luck in your search. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I feel your pain. I am currently losing weight, and it's getting harder and harder to find suits to fit. When I was overweight, I just wore larger sized suits to fit my torso length and I filled them out everywhere else so it was all good. Now that I'm getting smaller, I'm not getting shorter and it's become an issue. I'm thinking that in another 10 lbs, I'm going to have to switch to a two piece for training. FWIW, I'm also 5'4", with big legs, long torso, B cup (and shrinking), and narrow hips. I'm currently at 148lbs and wearing a 34 in a Nike 'fastback' suit and they are just barely long enough (sort of). The advantes is that they are high enough in front that I'm not flashing anyone when the suit stretches out a bit in the water. |

It goes up to my stomach!!, I'm not kidding!! Okay, maybe not my stomach, but not much above my boobs. I guess maybe I want a high neck swimsuit as well which is probably super hard to find. Okay, see the shirt type thing you have on your profile pic...that's what I want in a suit, LOL! |

No way. a 36 is roughly equivalent to a size 12 and a 34 to a size 10. Looking at you I would guess a 34. |

I'm serious, you would be flored if you saw how they fit me!!. I can't figure it out. I must not be looking at the wrong ones. The local stores (Dicks, Sports Authority, etc) have nothing for me. So I am going online here. The one suit I have works, but I seriously hate it. ... and I want to find something for the summer too... that's cute! |

I wear a 36 and I'm 5'9", weigh 165-170 and have an overall ATHLETIC build. I think you are probably a 36 at the absolute largest. Probably more like a 34. Maybe try the long torso 34 and 36 and see which one fits??? ![]() |

I'd also look at www.swimoutlet.com -- they have some really good deals on cute training suits. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I tend towards a longer torso and like the TYR suits. My speedo goes up way to high on my legs until I get it wet, then it's "ok". The TYR seem to tend to stretch out the long way - good for you! I would recommend trying one of their grab bag suits from Swimoutlet.com like this: http://www.swimoutlet.com/product_p/7422.htm I find their suits to be "true to size". Check out the size chart here: http://www.tyr.com/size_chart.php I avoid two-piece and reversible because they tend to squeeze in the wrong places, the edging is too firm. If you try one, you can exchange for size (not color, nor can you return it). But I think for $22, it's a good one to try. They fit okay dry, GREAT wet. Love swimoutlet! |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() This is my best fitting suit (in a 34). Since I'm your height and I out-weight you by 8 lbs...I cannot imagine how a 40 would be hanging on you! http://www.swimoutlet.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=5929&color=9599 ![]() |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I wear a two piece by Tyr. Waaaay more comfy. I cannot stand one piece anything.........not trisuits, swimsuits or even wet suits. I understand that you might not feel quite comfortable strutting around in a two piece. It did take a bit of getting used to at the pool, and I still get some funny looks, but it is just so much more comfy to swim in that I really do not care what anyone thinks! Good luck in finding a suit that....well, SUITS you! |
