My tri training has been nil since the hurricane evacuation and now I feel like dog crap since I have come down with a cold over the weekend, so what did I do for a self-induced "change of mood"???  I do what most women do.....I went shopping.  But this a not woman's day shopping spree.... I did it like any real "dude" like myself should do...go to BestBuy and spend some quality dimes on some electronics.  I came back a good bit lighter in the wallet, but have some nice new toys.

The list includes:

Razor cell phone
Blue tooth wireless cell phone headset
iPod Nano

Not a good workout day, but damn did I have fun.  Guess I will be up late playing with all the new features....

Must be Christmas in September!!!

Now tell me what your latest splurge purchase was....any quality gadgets????

good for you.  just be careful not to drop that Razor... its coolness outweighs its durability.

I was thinking about getting one of the motorola cell phones that has the iTunes player in it. I think it would be great for running biking. when you need to have a cell phone and want to have a music player as well. Here is a link. http://direct.motorola.com/ENS/web_producthome.asp?Country=USA&lang...
Has anybody gotten one of these or known someone who has?

It's ok, Cavu, sometimes you just need to spoil yourself.  And if you can afford it, why not.

My BF keeps telling me I should get the Razor phone.  I'll have pass along the info about durability -- I have clumsy fingers and regularly drop my phone, which probably explains the need for a new phone.

Lane, great to hear from you.  Did you ever get to have your promotion party?  I think you called it a "wetting down".

I LOVE TOYS!

I just bought a Garmin 301...my other GPS thing crapped out on me...I figured it would cost me a fortune to send it back to the company to have them fix it...why not just get a new one?

My next toy is going to be a new road bike, not sure if that will be before or after the snow flies. I wonder if I could get aerobars for my snowmobile and call it training....

Keep my wife away from this thread. Over the years our house has been a veritable "vacuum cleaner museum." The next one always promises to be the best one. I think they're made by the same company that owns swamp land housing tracts in the Everglades.

My purchase is unfortunately becoming a lessson in patience.  Custom lugged steel bike w/ S&S couplers for traveling.  Full Campy Record w/ the Campy Compact cranks.  I'm 2 months into the 3 month scheduled timeframe.  The 3 months assumes everything happens on time.  I'm not good with waiting so this is a true test of good things come to those who wait.

Did you get the 2GB or the 4GB nano? How's that working out for you?

Looking to get the Garmin 301 for bday, maybe the Nano for Christmas.

Got the 2GB...couldn't see the need for 1000 songs.  500 will be enough.

Got the 301 a month or so back...you will love it.

Is it that good?  Gotta upgrade mine, which is over 10 yrs old.  Still works, believe it or not.

Need to get a new cellphone soon.  Battery dying.

Want a small but nice speaker system to listen to classical before my ears go deaf (I have mod/severe hearing loss).  I should get this for my b-day

Looks more like a wish list here now.  Haven't bought anything recently, the latest being the stupid faulty CatEye cyclometer, which I sent back for an exchange.

HHMM Who knew the vaccum would be so popular   I didn't get the roller ball one I got the middle of the road one.  it is AWESOME.  I had a hoover wind tunnel but it stopped sucking.  Also the filter for the silly thing was like$75...and it was really heavy.  the Dyson weighs about 1/2 as much and it gets up pet furr amazingly well....and NO FILTER.  very easy to empty too

Hmmmmm. My 20gb is nearly full, but it's an old (relatively) bulky model by Creative. Think I can make do with 4gb, don't think 2 gives enough variety. But I'm an old school, album kind of guy.

I picked up the Dell Axim X50v (PDA) the other day as they were blowing them out to make room for the 51 series. Ahhh, it's nice to get organized again. Booting up the laptop every time I needed a phone number was getting a little tedious.
