It is that time of the year again, so lets have it, what are you thoughts so far and who are you rooting for?

Last year it ended in dissapointment for me as the Heat lost in the finals, this year i think is critical for them, if they dont win it i think the teaming up of Wade and James will be classified as a failure.

The Bulls are most likely done. I was at the game today and when Rose went down you could hear a pin drop. I will root for anybody but the heat. I can't stand Lebron and his flopping. The nba needs to do something with the flopping. It is ruining the game.

I can't believe anyone is able to concentrate on the rest of the season while the uncertainty in Phoenix is occuring...  (Nope, didn't really expect the rest of the basketball world to really understand the pain)

Seriously, I'm with the above, I'll cheer on whoever is playing the Heat.  Hope to see the Spurs win it on the back of a big play by Patty Mills in the final game so he can carry some great momentum into the Olympics

That was pretty incredible.....I still think that the Grizzlies will come out of that series, but it certainly is more difficult now.  Game 2 will be crucial.

x2.

Longtime Bulls fan checking in. I'm still pretty bummed. But we played 27 games w/o DRose this season. As long as Deng and Rip stay healthy, we still have a good shot.

It's only 1swt game of 1st round, but Heat look dominate, Celtics look old and tired and the Bulls have a big uphill battle...   Heat's Championship to lose in the East and I agree with OP, they NEED to win this year.

The west is a bigger mystery.  Going in I saw the Thunder and Spurs as top dogs, but that can all change.   Thunder should have lost to underwhelming Dallas team.

I went to the Hawks/Celtics game last night...I'm a die-hard Hawks fan, so naturally on nights when Boston/New York/LA/Chicago come to town, there are frequently many people wearing the visiting team's jersey. No different last night except they were drowned out by the Hawks' fast start and an enthusiastic home crowd. Liking our chances for this series and if we should be so lucky as to make it to the second round to face a Rose-less Chicago, could be our year to get to the conference finals...Well, I can fantasize, right?

Back here on Planet Earth, maybe it's looking like a Miami/Oklahoma final? On paper, I think that adds up but would also have to observe that neither of those rosters is without its flaws and therefore neither is invincible. So maybe San Antonio because Parker/Ginobli is a lethally potent combination, or Chicago because their coach is better than Miami's. All will be revealed.

I say as a Chapel Hill alum, circa Jordan/Perkins et al, that the NBA playoffs is the most exciting sport I know of...The next month will be bliss.

I’m obviously somewhat biased as I’m a heat fan but Finals wise I don’t see anyone else making it from the East, the West is another story.  There are 3 to 4 teams that wouldn’t surprise me if they make it all the way to the end.  I had OKC as the favorite to come out of the west but their games against the Mavericks have left me unimpressed, I think the size of the lakers can give them trouble if they meet.

Go Magic!  Until we get knocked out (by Miami if we make it to 2nd round).

Then, its anyone who is playing against heat.

The last quarter of the Hawks/Celtics game was painful to watch - the freight train of inevitability was rolling down the tracks...

Chicago has some serious regrouping to do or Philly is going to find themselves in the conf semis...It's not like they're inept or anything but the second half of their season was butt ugly. Chicago played really well when Rose was out during the regular season, so last night's mis-fire is kind of surprising..

Regular season is entirely different to the playoffs, thats why you saw Chicago play the way they did without Rose.  Their chances with Rose not 100% where slim, without him they are 0.  They migth get pass Philly but that is about it.  During the regular season they won a lot without Rose, but when you substract the easy wins during those games and just compare the games played agains teams currently in the playoffs they were only 500

My memory's a little shaky on this but wasn't one of those wins against a full strength Miami? Zero percent chance is incorrect.

Actually my memory is somewhat shaky in regards to that as well, i believe that wade was out but i probably could be wrong.  What i do know is that last year Chicago swept miami during the regular season, and then lost in 5 in the conference finals.  Regular season in the NBA doesnt mean much once the Playoffs start, specially for the better teams.

Ill give them 0.001 percent chance, how about that Laughing

I'll be cheering for whoever is playing the Heat. Although I would really like to see them lose, I don't think there is a team to take them out. With so many teams with concerns with age, injuries, and talent, it is hard to see the heat not winning it.

Haters gonna hate. I just want LeBron to win one. I get tired of hearing all the whining about him. He's a great player and I think it would be good for the game for him to get his first ring.
