Subject: Strange voicemails / texts from previous cell phone # owner

So, in March, I got a new cell phone with my new job.  With it came the previous phone # owner's friends & family.

I have gotten texts at 2am saying, "So what are you up to?" (Booty call?).  Or, "Hey, do you need money?"  I have also spoken with his dad and brother.

Then a guy texted me at 11pm a month ago.  I told him that the "effer" that he knew no longer had this phone #.  I was then told that I had big shoes to fill.  And that the previous owner could "do two girls, drink a case of beer and still shoot a gun straighter than anyone".  I wished him a Happy Easter.

Then today, I get a very excited sounding child on a voice mail, "Thank you Uncle ____, for the rifle.  Mommy's friend knows about guns and will show me how to use it."  From the voice, I'd guess that it was a boy between 5 and 7 years old.

Awesome entertainment value!

That's awesome - very entertaining - i am sure you're almost excited when you get a call from an unknown number.

I've had mine for about three years and for a long time I was getting collections calls for the previous person who had this number.  Sometimes multiple times a day.  Not entertaining.  Annoying, very very annoying.

That's fantastic.  All my 'unknown' callers are telemarketers, I wish I had your deal.

BTW downing a case a beer, doing two girls, and then shoot a gun straighter than anyone.... hate to say it Mike, but thems is pretty big shoes to fill... you up to it?

I work for a company that sells fertilizers and chemicals for Ag.  The previous owner of my number was one of the salesmen, but he quit just before I started (hence why I got his phone)  For months, I got messages from customers (whom I directed to other salesmen) but there were always a few females that called over and over asking for Matt.  And none of them were his wife!

I've had the same number for 10+ years but someone for about two years had a wrong number in the schools database and I would get a weekly call asking why someone wasn't in class....

Just start drinking Dos Equis, and you'll be fine.

Oh, the prank possibilities of this one...

"Too drunk for school today"

"Yearly demonic ritual, a tradition of my family....are you a virgin and do you want to participate?"

"He don't need no education, He don't need no self control"

I found out a former employee was using our company issued phone to sell drugs.

That was interesting.

I get that now with an email address of mine.  It is usually around institute time and them asking me to prepare stuff for a teachers meeting.  It would suck to be the person that was supposed to get the email sent to me. They would be totally unprepared.

I had a phone number that was one digit off from Dominos. The first call I'd tell them they had the wrong number. If they called back, I'd take their order.
