I usually just have a single bottle on my bike and thats all i drink for the whole race... its 20oz of half powerade half water. I kept a granola bar pre-opened on one of my races out of habit (from my long rides) because I thought I'd get the munchies on the bike section lol but if I got hungry I probably wasn't pushing hard enough =P

I deleted the "think its too little" part cuz it was more rhetorical question than anything.

You don't need much for a sprint. I usually have a bottle on the bike but it's more for keeping my mouth/throat from getting dry than needing hydration. Drink to thirst and adjust the amount in your bottle based on conditions. 90+ degrees, you might be happy you loaded a full bottle. Under 70 and you can load less. I just put water in mine and take no other nutrition besides a good breakfast and a GU before the start.Experiment and find what works for you. Everyone is different.

YOu dont need much for a sprint.  if you are going hard enough, then not much will digest anyway.  However many studies have shown that flavored drink tricks your brain into being able to perform better.

Of course there might be much debate here as to the merits of water compared to some other fuel or flavored drink.

I carry one bottle on the bike...sometimes I don't even drink out of it.

On the run, I usually just grab whatever they have.  Water, gatorade...doesn't really matter.

Jeah I like the flavor mostly. I only finish like... a third of it by the time I roll back in.

After some trial and error, less is more for a sprint and Oly for me. Still working on the Oly balance. Just did a half marathon with nothing but a good breakfast, GU 10 minutes before and water to thirst and PR'd. Last 5k was rough but I think that was training related, not nutrition related but I won't know until I experiment some more :-).

Anything sub two hours water should be more than enough for your body to be sustained for most endurance athletes. At least thats what Joe Friel said.

Oh yeah. He retweeted something I said. That makes me a health-athlete professional right?

I will fill my aero bottle half way, usually don't hit off that much, but since the straw is in my face the whole way I will a little. If they are offering water coming out of T1 I will grab a cup

One bottle, 1/2 full. Don't usually bother with it, though...

x2 which for me is about 10 oz's, which is really to keep my mouth from getting dry.  I typically skip water stations on the run course for a sprint unless it is really hot.

But normally a sprint will start by 8am and you are done before 10am so the heat of the day is typically not a factor around here by then.

Depending on temp and humidity, 0 to 1 bottle of water on bike and and whatever supplied water to slosh in my mouth and dump on my head on the run.

Heat is a huge problem in deep south texas -.- races anywhere within 200 miles can have 90+ degree heat before the sun comes up on the bad days.

Pretty much all my races except for my HIM have been in tropical heat. For a sprint, I have a 20 oz bottle on the bike with half a tablet of Nuun or Endurolyte Fizz dissolved in it. Usually don't drink the whole thing; maybe half. A few swallows at the start to rinse my mouth after ocean swim, maybe a drink at 15, 30, and and just before running off. I don't carry water in a sprint run. Sometimes I take a drink of water on the course; sometimes just throw it over my head. I'm running really hard (trying to make up what I lost on the bike) and I tend to gag when I try to swallow on the run. I've been a bit dehydrated at the finish but never ended up in the med tent; make up for it later with lots of water and electrolyte drink, and maybe beer! No nutrition for sprints (I would puke); one gel for an Oly, halfway thru the bike leg.

X2 here in Miami also, so I tend to drink a lot out of habit from training sunup til 1pm.

I have a Profile Aqualite (22oz) on my air bars filled with G2 that I'll drink starting as soon as I'm clear of transition.

It depends a bit on weather, how I feel and how long the sprint is, but most of the time I have a single bottle (20oz) on my bike that I will drink at most half on the bike and have one final gulp right before heading out on the run. That will pretty much be it for the entire race. If it's cooler and the bike leg is shorter, then I may not drink anything. I never eat in a sprint... just no time for it and the event is so short that I can do just fine with whatever I have before and after

A 24 oz bottle of Gatorade G2.  I drink however much I want, but didn't come close to finishing it.  Last tri the cross winds on the way back stopped me from drinking much as they would blow me around so much I wanted both hands on the handle bars.

I do it partly from habit, partly to keep hydrated enough that I won't want any water while running as I have to walk to drink.

Cool weather: about 16 oz on the bike and that's about it.

I have yet to do a sprint in cool weather, but usually I'll drink about half of a 32 oz PD aerodrink, half water, half electrolyte drink. Bottle of water right after I finish. Honestly things are happening too fast in a sprint to do more than that.

Not much, I take one bottle of water on the bike and take a couple of sips.  Unless it is very hot I don't ever stop to drink anything during a 5K race.

I'll have a bottle of water on the aerobars. Never had the whole thing in a sprint though, and it varies with how long and how hot it is that day. Never had anything on the run.
