Subject: RE: Christmas for running wifeA couple of other ideas for you to consider: What about a running top/shirt with custom printing....you know, her name on the back, and a message or something. If she has a charity then put that on there - some up with a logo/quote. Something that she can wear during the event! If it was me, I would take this one step further and by yourself a 'team mrs isyphoto' supporters t-shirt (with printing on the back/front that says 'Mrs Isyphoto Support crew) - you could do this for everyone thats going to be at the event supporting her (your kids? other friends etc) - this way it will seem like she has a whole branded support crew with matching shirts etc. I've seen people do this at various events and it looks so awesome! I would take this one step further again, and wrap all the shirts as xmas presents (even the one for yourself) an put them all under the tree. Another idea for you to consider: When I ran the Sydney HM this year, my wife booked us into one of the best hotels in Sydney (which was only around 1km from finishing line). This was awesome because she picked a hotel that has amazing indooor pool/spa/sauna facilities. So even though we live only 1 hours drive away, I got the chance to go back to the hotel after the event and have a swim, sit in the sauna, relax for an hour etc. We then got dressed and went for lunch to celebrate. This was a great way of making the event an experience, as I am sure if we had driven straight home after the event, we would have just got into the routine of washing, housework, groceries etc (all the usual stuff you do on a weekend) One more thing: Some books on running/training - I read a lot of sports related books and they are great to keep you motivated in training. |
