Mine is pretty simple:  Led Zeppelin, Madison Square Garden, 1973.  The Song Remains the Same concerts.

The Doors at the Hollywood Bowl, 1968. Or one of their smaller shows at The Whiskey shortly before that.

Woodstock would be the top of my list.  I would have loved to see Hendrix play live or the Beatles  or Aerosmith or AC/DC with Bon Scott ......  The list is long.

Not the one where Morrison pulled out his weenie in Miami?

For me, Woodstock for sure, it a close second would be Monterey Pop in 1967. Epic performances by Jimi and Otis, with Janus, The Who, Mamas and Papas, Grateful Dead, Byrds and others thrown in.

Stones at Altamont would be on my list too, more to witness the train wreck it became than the actual performance.

I'll also throw out the Beatles final rooftop concert in London, 1969.

Saw The Boss with the E Streeters in '84 (Born in the USA tour) and again in the early 90s, and both were among the best concerts I've attended. Each was ~3-1/2 hours of pure energy with a short break halfway through. These guys brought it every night.

To the OP: I did see Zeppelin play on the next tour, a January 1975 concert at LSU in support of Physical Graffiti. Awesomeness.

Well DREAM concert..... But 1st..... Riding the train w/Jerry, Janis, & Buddy Guy.... Thats a dream trip across Canada 4 sure..... 2nd.... How about being in the audience of the Dick Cavett Show while he interviews John Lennon, David Crosby, Ray Charles, or David Bowie...... Now back 2 the dream..... Late 60's Jefferson Airplane and Genesis would be near the top BUT Jimi Hendrix would be the DREAM CONCERT!!!

And on that note..... What if Jimi played w/the SF, LA, or NY Symphony???? What A Dream!!! Let me think about that 4 awhile.....

Saw Springsteen at the Main Point in Philly in 1975 as my first concert. Scrawny grungy looking guy with a huge black dude on sax. I was 13(?) and we were able to go because my best friend's dad worked for the record company.

I will always be a massive fan. He puts out 100% on every single show and doesn't finish till he's soaking wet and exhausted. I miss Clarence.

Can't argue w/ any of these but still, it's kinda hard to argue against seeing Woodstock or some culturally significant event.  Didn't think about being on the Festival Express, that would have been truly amazing.

Good call-- The Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, IA. Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, Richie Valens and Dion. What a bill. I believe Holly also had Waylon Jennings on guitar.

It's crazy to think that Buddy was just 22 when he died, considering how many great songs he had already written by that time. It's even crazier to think how many more songs he would have written had he had more time.

That said, I wonder if the show was any good, or like today's big acts, they saved more energy for their big market shows.

Waylon was Holly's bass player. He reportedly gave up his seat on that ill-fated flight to the Big Bopper because BB had the flu and was too sick for the bus ride.
