So are the handle bars for that matter

high bike

Heres a video of him riding the 'stoopidtall' in the streets.  Crazy the way he goes through intersections hoping the cars will stop

Damn!

I'd install a set of drop down training wheels on it.

My question is what's with the front fender.  Do you think your going to get wet from the wheels way up there.

But did you notice the guy on his left... looks a little more reasonable. Must be his commuter with the panniers.

The guy on his left, before he left the house, was like "This is going to be classic....I'm going to be the guy on the tall bike...."

and then he got to the bike rally.....

Nice Helmet too...

So anyone else wondering exactly how he gets on this thing?

At the beginning of the video he climbs up with a head cam on.  When hes done, he finds a street light to lean the bike then he climbs down.  Theres also a slide show at the end just to show how stupid tall it is.

He didnt plan it too well as on his route he barely clears an underpass by 2"

That's crazy.

But every time I have looked at that picture over the last 24 hours, I keep getting a pit in my stomach and a bit anxious.  That's a LONG way down if something should go wrong.

THis was at our local Ciclavia event.  Frankly, I think it's a bit of a dbag move to have that bike out there, as it's an event full of kids, families, etc., and that bike just goes where it wants...  Anyway

a local article reports that on his way home, the chain broke, and he fell and dislocated his ankle.  Pretty lucky if you ask me

Here's a link to the video of the ride

That article confirmed what I thought: there's no way to brake on that bike.  Pretty ridiculous that he's anywhere near cars with that thing.

We have a group of Tall bike riders here in the Minneapolis area.  They use loading docks to get on and off.  The bikes aren't this "Stupid-tall" though.  The most I've seen is three frames tall..  They also do bicycle jousting on them which is funny (Because I'm not doing it).

Yeah, my legs/ankles always ache a bit looking at the picture.  I'm surprised he was able to "walk away" with only a dislocated ankle and nothing broken.

I think it is insane.  And, as pointed out, unlike other insane things like building climbing or tight rope walking, if you fall you could take someone out.  And how do you fall off that thing and only sprain your ankle.

Maybe i am in a bitter mood today but riding that thing is a crime.
