one week out to my Oly, i had the worst 10k pace of my training so far = depressed. the heat, the heat!
I always blame the heat! Enjoy taper week and don't worry too much about that 10k. It was the heat!
Got out there at 7 AM to ride before the threat of thunderstorms and blazing heat. All I had to contend with was the fish bowl like humidity. 25 mile ride, followed by a 1500 yd swim. A cyclist passed me quickly on my ride today. He said, "Good morning!" and I wanted to say, "I'm just on a recovery ride!" in the way that Americans claim to be Canadians when traveling overseas. Lies. (by the way, I'm a bonafide Canadian. )
Daniel's "Patriotic Nap" sounds good so I'll do that after laundry. :P Happy Independence Day to my American friends! |
