Sensei ![]() | ![]() I'm surprise there isn't a thread yet (or I missed it due to lack of activity). Now that we are down to 8. Predictions? Hopes?
I'm a HUGE Denver fan after living there for 10 years. But putting my biases aside, I still think Denver v. Seattle seems most likely and I would like to think Denver could prevail for the Championship. This weekend I'm thinking Denver, Colts (but NE is clutch too) in the AFC and Seattle and Carolina in the NFC. BUT, parody is prevalent (and it IS the best 8 teams in the league right now). I wouldn't be surprised about any win except maybe Saints or San Diego. |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Definitely Seattle/Carolina with Seattle winning that. I can't go against Seattle at home against anyone right now. Denver/NE and that's really a toss up. No way Denver coughs up a huge lead again in the 2nd half like they did against the Pats earlier in the year, but I think that'd be an awesome game. |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Obviously I'm a Seahawks homer so I'm picking them to win it. I think SF beats Carolina this weekend and Denver/NE meet in the AFCCG. I think Brady beats Manning again. I think if they make it to the SB, the Hawks D will be too much for whoever wins the AFC. They only allowed 175 ypg through the air and just a hair over 100 ypg on the ground. They led the league in turnovers and have an excellent pass rush. I've been preaching it since the end of last year and I certainly hope I am correct. Since it is the NFL, it probably means SD will win it all. Edited by JoshR 2014-01-07 11:53 AM |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Some more Seahawks stats. They played all 3 remaining teams in the NFC playoffs. @ Car/SF home for NO/SF. They won 12-7 @ Carolina, Beat SF 29-3 at home, beat NO 34-7 at home and lost to SF 17-19 @ SF. In those 4 games the D gave up 241 ypg total with a +4 TO margin. In addition Harvin should be available for the playoffs to help boost the offense which has been struggling a bit lately. Edited by JoshR 2014-01-07 12:06 PM |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() NFC-49ers rout Panthers. Niners are finally healthy on offense. Panthers have a hard time scoring sometimes. Seattle beats NO. Seahawks secondary to much for Brees & Co. Seattle beats SF at home with 12th man. AFC-Indy beat NE. Brady has simply run out of weapons. Luck gets a couple clutch catches out of Deon Branch. Broncos v. Chargers (toss up). If Rivers has found a running game, it could spread Denver's D pretty thin. Might be a 35-42 track meet. Broncos beat Indy cuz Manning will NOT let the 'kid' beat him again, at home. Chargers v. Indy=who cares? Seattle beats anybody in SB. ....or i could be completely wrong about everything. lol That's why they play the game.

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() As a Mass-hole, I'd love to see the Pats win. Buuuuut, my prediction is that by then they'll have a total of 10 guys - playing both ways with coaches subbing in for the last man. Hey, they could still win it all! Matt |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I'm going for the Seahawks all the way! I've been a huge fan for a long time and have the priviledge to say that I witnessed the Seahawk's first franchise playoff game in person-- a drubbing of a young Elway's Broncos. This is how Vegas sees this weekend's games: Broncos by 10 Seahawks by 8 Patriots by 7.5 49ers by 2 I think all the big favorites win this weekend and agree that the 49ers/Panthers game is a toss-up, but if I've got to pick I'd say Panthers. Then in the conference championships, I pick Seattle and Denver with Seattle winning it all.

I don't think Denver/SD game will be that close. At first I was nervous that they beat Denver IN Denver a month ago. BUT, now I think that's the worst thing that could have happened to SD (but it got them in the playoffs). Every team plays "up" for the playoffs and probably doesn't overlook a team that much BUT:
Unless the Peyton Manning we all know doesn't show up, or the defense. I think it's going to be a smackdown.
The only negative is maybe SD is confident that since they beat Denver in Denver, they think they can do it again. Confidence it huge in games.

The key factor in this game is "the Peyton Manning we all know" showing up. Regular season Manning? Best QB ever. Post season manning? lost in his first game 8 times. If he shows up in regular season form, not many teams can hang with Denver I think. |

Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() "Since it is the NFL, it probably means SD will win it all. " As a SD fan, they have a good habit of losing the games I think they can win easily and win the tough games I think they will lose. In the past they were good at beating Peyton when he was with the Colts so it will be interesting to see what happens this weekend in Denver. Confidence coming out of the win last week and their prior win over Denver may help, however SD's secondary is still a bit too loose and I think the game will be shoot out. At the beginning of the season I predicted Seattle vs. Denver in the Superbowl, will be interesting to see if that happens. |

Sensei ![]() | ![]() This is what the local books have: Denver is laying 10, which is a lot for a playoff game, IMO. But they anticipate a shootout...

I take all the overs and all the underdogs except New Orleans. Especially Indy with a touchdown. Seattle will more than cover the 8 points. Edited by pitt83 2014-01-07 6:18 PM |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() or the NFC I really don't see anyone knocking off Seattle. But that's the NFC...I really don't care. San Diego is hot right now and Rivers is not shy about telling everyone so. Some thing interesting, the 3 AFC teams remaining in the playoffs handed Denver their 3-losses this season. That said, Denver should have won each of those games. I'm a life long Bronco fan...so I am biased but I'll pick Denver over SD, NE, and Indy. That leaves a Denver/Seattle Super Bowl. Denver and Seattle use to play in the same division...Denver owns Seattle 34/19. Yeah, that's pretty much meaningless but I'll take my Broncos over the Hawks! Edited by rayd 2014-01-07 10:57 PM |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I am bitter about the 9'ers taking my team out last weekend, nothing I didn't expect, we did far better than I thought we would, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. So I am hoping to see the 9'ers get embarrassed. Also hoping to see the Seahawks go down and all those hopeful fans dashed upon the rocks yet again. I mean come on, the Seahawks are not supposed to win games, just the way it is. What next? A sunny day in Seattle? |

Saying that San Diego is a bigger underdog than New Orleans is crazy. |

![]() Nothing would surprise me in these playoffs. It's very likely that every game will be played outdoors in the cold...not sure what the weather is like in Carolina...zero chance of a game in NO, and very minimal chance of a game in Indy. That's a recipie for...anything can happen. So many games this year have been decided by 7 points or less. Every team, even Seattle and Denver...have had games where they looked pretty bad. Every team has a franchise QB capable of carrying the entire team...or playing poor enough to lose the game by themselves. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the show...but just for the heck of it...I'll GUESS that it's going to be New England vs. Carolina in the Super Bowl, with Carolina being the one kicking the game winning FG late. It's not likely to happen...but it would be boring if I said Seattle was going to beat Denver in the SB. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() NFC Would love to see the Saints at least make Seattle sweat a little bit. Seattle hasn't been the same the second half of the season and they seem to be overly confident that "forever injured" Harvin coming back will create huge problems. Sure it will, but only if he can play enough snaps and stay healthy. Even with that he's bound to be rusty. The key is for the 'Hawks to have to play the game so they're not fully rested next week when my Niners come calling. Niners will win in Carolina. Everyone seems to forget that the Niners held Super-Cam to 10 points the last time they played. Niners offense and defense has gotten much healthier while Carolina has virtually stayed the same....ifff Steve Smith is healthy come Sunday. It'll still be a slugfest but the Niners will come out on top this week. AFC, would love to see Brady beat that crap beard off of Luck's neck and Peyton win as well just to see the Brady/Manning match up again. |
