Yesterday was rest in Ironman training but we went to the pro-am shoot out or whatever the heck it's called and drank from 6 p.m. to bedtime with the 95-degree sun blazing on us. Then mexi-noms and more drinking. These pro golf guys do not mess around. COFFEE. |

Then again, my IM rest day wasn't exactly a "rest" either unless you count an hour run in the fog restful? Oh, did I mention that I'm also training for IM distance and doing the 140.6 B2B race? |

You might be looking for this thread I was on Match for a long time, and also Plenty of Fish. In my experience, since Match is a "pay to play" site, it's quality vs. quantity. POF is the opposite. I met a lot of GREAT guys on Match - just not great for me. I think it depends on your personality. Lots of people prefer doing it the old fashioned way (meeting folks in person during common/shared interest events) but those people are typically more extroverted in my experience. Introverts like me liked the electronic browsing and communication/flirting before meeting in person. That said, the guy I'm dating right now? I've known him for 15 years and out of the blue he messaged me on Facebook to ask me out. Funny how things work out. Edited by lisac957 2013-06-11 11:13 AM |

Hi Lisa, I tend to agree with you on the website dating thing, but given a work, children and attempting to train schedule I tend to get spread a little thin. I am an extravert with a Type A personality, but figure the match.com type arena may be a decent place to start. I've been out of the dating scene for a good amount of time, and need to get back on the horse. Sorry for the interruption and I am now off to the Dating Thread. |

Heheh... money. Mentally, I've already committed to it (even if it doesn't feel real, yet). I have to register for Rev3CP Half and AG Nationals first (doing both this Friday).... then I can look to sign up for B2B.

I'm still trying to decide what other races to do before B2B... and if I'll bother with a HIM distance or not - considering I've never done one. |

Rev3 CP Half! It's not a terribly far drive at all from ChiTown, and it's like 5-6 weeks before B2B - a perfect warm-up race. |

I might not be able to do the swim as well as I hoped but I will definitely do the race.
