Well, well, well....another week is flying by which means it's time to talk about RACING!!!!  Who is planning to do a little something?

If you're not racing, check in with us and let us know how your training is going so far...any ups? downs (Fatty!)? Ahead of your plan or scrambling to keep up?

I'll start!!!  Was planning to do an aquathon on Thursday 1000m/5k and an Oly on Sunday.  Foot has made those plans doubtful.  Will for sure do the 1000m swim, not the 5K.  And the Oly.....who knows.  No matter what, the race strategy wil certainly change.   Many of you are reminding me of priority number 1 and I'm listening!!  Remain undaunted....stay tuned.

Good morning MG!!  Had an another awesome easy run this morning... finally this is feeling natural :-)

No real 'racing' for me this weekend.   Our running club is hosting a 3 or 6 hour endurance run this friday night as a charity event for Autism Speaks.  It's an annual event - more like a running party/buffet.  Lots of food!
I entered the 3hr.  The plan: Go nice and easy and have a great time.Laughing

Good luck to all the weekend racers!

I am. I signed up at the last minute for the 3 Little Pigs triathlon in Smithfield, NC. Should be fun. I am racing next weekend too.

I am messing with my races a lot lately. I am probably going to race a sprint at Melbourne Beach, Florida 7/31 if the piece fall into place like they look like they will. A good friend has a house in Indian Harbor so the family and I would head downthere for a week before the race. To do this I have to drop an Olympic in NC on 7/30, but the guys who run that race old me this AM that it would be no problem to switch my registration the Half I am going to do 10/29.

I know Linda  and her husband Wes are doing the same race this weekend.

Racing the "B" race tonight, plan on getting shelled and wondering why I do this stupid sport.

As for training, Sam and I have had a lot of discussions lately about triathlon vs. single sport.  She's having a great time doing running races and I'm having a great time doing bike races.  It's not that we don't like triathlons but right now we both want to focus on a single sport. I've only got one more Tri scheduled this year so if I don't sign up for any more that would only be 3 in a year which would be pretty low for me vs. past years.

It's tough when you want to do well in everything but barely have the time to train enough to do well in one discipline.

crazy incident today on my run.  a cougar was stalking me.  she pounced, with cold beer and wine.  we wrestled.  she won. my knee and hand got beat up.  if you're in the woods and you here OOMPH OOMPH... look the F out!  i was able to snap a quick pic on my phone...

Funny.  HaHa.  First, I would never be carrying beer.  Second, of course I won.  Finally,  nobody who wrestles with me complains.  ever.

and.....I don't think that there exists a big enough chronological age gap between us to call me a cougar.  Hmph.  Or Oomph, be as it may.

No racing for me this week.  Leaving tonight to go to Colorado.  Going to bring the bike and try to get some riding and running in up in the mountains.

No Races for me this week. I'm not sure how to plan this summer.  My doctor says I need to have surgery on my ankle. I just moved into my new house ( have slept in it three nights). I have boxes and boxes to unpack.  And new practice to keep going. I just isn't a good time to be laid up for 6 to 8 weeks.  I think I might just continue to do Pt exercises to help my ankle. I reevaluate the ankle in the fall and if needed do the surgery then. If I do any tri's this summer I'd be walking the run.  I may look for biking events to do. Or an Aqua Bike.

No racing here; just slowly trying to build a run base.  As for training, I am satisfied with the progress I am making thus far.  I hope to move to the final stage of this training plan with 30 minute continuous runs in the next week or two.  My biggest problem has been consistency, and I don't see that changing anytime soon considering the circumstances.

Yes I get to race again this weekend. I am doing the Guelph Lake 1 Olympic on Sunday. After last weekends race I am feeling more confident about completing in under 3 hours.

Got a 10 mile race this weekend. I was pounding the pavement at 3:45 am for 14 miles, swim workout after I leave work this evening. Training is going well!

However, I am more reserved on the bike this season. Even though I have my first road bike. All the accidents this year in the news and the fact that I was run off the road last summer, I don't want to ride by myself now and that will  limit my training.

Trev--I can't believe your race is right around the corner!

Rob--get 'er done!  Glad to hear you are ready to rip things up.

Linda--you're crazy, but in a good way.

Fatty--is that something for post nasal drip?

George--not suprised that race sold out so quickly.  I think this is a start of a new strategy for WTC--they have finally introduced tiered pricing for preferred destinations.  I have no doubt it is more expensive to run one in NYC, but now they can selectively do that wherever they want regardless of increased costs.  And they have the audience to pay for it.  Clever.

Oly this weekend. HIM July 1st weekend to prepare as well!! Its funny too- I remember when Tracy and I were chatting about something and it was like "OH it's not for 6 months, lots of time still."

Doing the Oly, then 2 weeks later is the HIM. Then we have a camp out in penticton July 23ish, GADDDDD its coming fast. Totally don't feel ready, but i guess the big volume is really only starting...Michelle already is really loving all the training. She loves the fact that every night I'm out doing something.

Hey Peeps. I ran across a new BTer, KC7, in the Introduce Yourself Forum and told her to stop by. She has overcome some pretty amazing things (cancer, open heart surgery and divorce) and lives in greater DC. Since we have 3 members in that area here I figure we could give her some support she is looking for. Hope your all ok with this.
