Thanks!! Driving home now. Perfect weather. Great race (swim and run.... And maybe bike... Were a bit short accdg to my garmin. But I'm still taking my 20 minute PR!! Felt so good after the swim, felt even better off the bike. Had the T1 from hell. Didn't start hurting until about 5 miles in when the race plan considered picking up the pace. My legs had other ideas. Still a half Mary PR tho.

sorry that I never saw Melissa, although I may have heard her on the ru ? Kept looking for the neon socks but didnt see them

I actually didnt wear the neon socks. I looked down and had my time chip on and decided against them and if I sat down to get them on I would have gotten back up. Lol. So wore normal socks! Lol. I did shout at you on the run though!!! Haha. And heard you say "melissaaaaaa". Lol. Back of that bike course killed me. Canadian trainer riding apparently has been me slacking off...one of the toughest courses I've done for sure. Calgary 70.3 was a cake walk compared to that! Well good gage getting ready for IM France and les French mountains. aka. Melissa needs to kick her a$$ and ride the trainer harder and go out to the mountains for reals!

Dusty (fastyellow) came in just over 4:40. Good for him as he's been battling injuries last year.

Melissa congratulations to both you and Chris, and to you too, Ben - big performances for everyone! The force is strong with this group, as Yoda Bryan would say. I was out doing longish bike intervals and took a peek in between each one to see how you guys were doing. So thanks to Arend and the rest for keeping updates going throughout the day - I rode just a little over 54 miles and I am not ashamed to say that I was VERY happy to not have to run a HM when I was done. Laughing

My wife asked me who in their right minds schedules a HIM this early in the season, and I told her mostly people who live in sunny California, and at least one crazy soul from Canada....

Great results Melissa and Chris, can't wait to read the race reports!

I got in an hour and a half on the trainer this evening and a short run this afternoon.  I have a 1:45 run scheduled for tomorrow and the weather is looking fantastic - borderline short sleeve shirt but probably not quite.

Had a good long ride.  Felt really strong and pushed my limits a bit.  If I can build up a little more fitness and be able to run off a bike effort like today I think I'll be very happy in June.

Followed it up with a 1k open water swim.  I almost bailed after 200ish yards, but felt better after once my body realized my arms needed some blood flow.

Chris/Melissa/Ben - awesome race race results for all of you, congrats.

I'm at the inlaws for Eatser and have limited access to the net, so I'm taking advantage now as I try to catch up.

HAte to jump into all the congratulations to the brave racers....but i need general use running shoe comments. so here goes.

....u must have square elephant feet to comment on this......

Brooks has always been only shoe that feels wide enough for me....

Acquired a pair saucony pro grid 2 shoes..liked but they feel like they are built on a narrow last. Anyone agree? was kinna looking forward to a little "cush" but not if im going to get squeezed in the process.

comment on best wide running shoe for general use. (have cascadias for trail runs, Skeechers for track work)
