So. I took my bike into the LBS yesterday after work to get the bottom bracket looked at because it was creaky and such. They said they'd fix it and I could pick it up today. I just called and lo and behold they don't open 'til 11 a.m.

I was supposed to be on a train by 1130 to meet Senor Crowny for lunch. Crowny, looks like it ain't happenin' man, unless you can wait 'til the 1:09 train rolls into Calumet.

Crap.

You know what -- that's what I'm going to do so I don't have to try to rush around, plus it'll give me a chance to hang with the Crownster again. Is your wife going to be there? If so I'll wear the shorty shorts.

How is it that the yogurt I'm eating doesn't have an expiration date?  I think that's strange.

Ok, so something weird is happening.

Two nights ago, when I went for my short run, I felt this funny pinching/stabbing pain under my HR belt.  Right at the sternum.

I thought "Uh-oh, am I getting shocked by the belt?".  I mean, it does have a battery in it, so I thought maybe some sweat or something was causing a little shock.  But as quickly as it started, it went away.

Then last night, swimming, without the HR belt, I felt the exact same thing.  Then I felt it again bending over to grab the recycling bin to take it outside for pick up.

No I have it again.  It really isn't terribly painful.  Feels like really small needles being jabbed just down and to the right of my sternum.  Almost on the edge of my rib cage.

Anyone ever had anything like this?  Just curious.  Not too worried.  More annoyed than anything else.

Sounds like costochondritis. The ribs are mainly cartilage where they connect to the sternum, and sometimes the cartilage/bone interface can get inflammed. Motrin usually does the trick.

If this is a new thing, though, go see a doc and get evaluated. Usually a physical exam, chest X-ray, and EKG will suffice, but sometimes more studies are needed. Once it's clear that your heart and lungs are in fact OK, then the Motrin should do the trick...

strange that it doesn't have an expiration date?  Or is the yogurt itself tasting strange?  (pronoun antecedent needed, please.)
