Oh yes, thanks to everyone and this challenge, I was able to do 20 X 100's on 1:30 interval and averaged between 1:05 to 1:12 per 100's in a meter pool. Last time I saw that was when I was a swimmer in the 70 and 80's. Ouch, did I just date myself.

Great job to everyone else improving. This has been my best month in training so far. Thanks for the girl's on placing the pressure on me everyday. All I have to do is think "Banana Hammock" I DON't THINK SO. Get out of bed, and get moving Frog!!

Anyone in the girl's group can chip away her mileage.

This is a close challenge, so let's keep it that way. Sure can't wait to see what happens at the last minute next week on Saturday as we look and verify the results. This is a lot of fun, and I see everyone is working forward on good swim challenges. Go for it all. Keep it fun.

Guy's, don't drop your guard, as we need to finish strong!!

OK, I think I modified & hopefully debugged the Spreadsheet to reflect the dropped Girl player and worked out the actual totals without having to change any of the other girlies original goals.  We had one guy offer a correction to his run totals, so the following now reflects the Week 3 results after everything was said and done.  Dang this is nice and close!

Week #3(b) - 2nd Annual August S-R Challenge Compiled Results

60.16%

59.45%

Teams Indv Goals met %

On a personal note, I think I found an answer to the Plantar Fasciitas that has been bugging me.  So I have ~2.8 miles of running to do each day to get to my modified run goal and ~ 20 minutes of swimming each day to get my swim goal.  Doesn't sound like much but I hate swimming, well I like swimming I just hate the first couple of steps of getting into the water deal .  I may have a new habit now of diving into the backyard pool after the kids have gone to school.  Helps that the pool water is 87F not 75F...

I believe the term is "RUNNING SCARED" boyz!  We've got 'em right where we want 'em.  Now let's bring it home so we're the ones enjoying some interesting new avatars from the guys.

Good news from the doc:  I have vertigo from a virus which should clear up in 2-3 weeks -- actually the good news is that I can keep swimming!  Whoo hoo!

I feel like spending 3 hours in the pool tomorrow (...too bad I have to work 10 hours).

P.S.  Glad to hear you are finding relief for you PF, Donto.

If the Fasciitis continues, you can always try that boot they sell. It's the best choice.

I guess I'm done with this challenge.

I tried to get some OW swimming, but the water was bacteria filled. Now I'm sick, and I need to get my white blood cell count down before a surgery.

Do whatever you want with my logs so far.

Hey Greg! Sorry to hear you are under the weather and that you are having surgery! Hope you get well quickly and that everything goes OK with the surgery!

I'm sure there may be others that are close to finishing up their goals. I will be finishing up my goals by this Sunday (8/27). I can probably cover your run. I think you are shy by about 7 miles. I have four or five runs scheduled next week.

I think you are about 16,000 yds short on the swim. I can get 5000 yds in! Need some of the other guys to pick up 11,000 yds.

my totals for this week:

swim 4400 yds

run 9.53 miles

totals for the month:

swim: 13,900 yds (600 yds to go)

run: 29.69 miles (10.31 miles to go)

i should be able to complete my swim yardage tomorrow with an OWS so all next week's swimming will be gravy (or picking up MM's slack) and i can bang out 2 of the run miles tomorrow as well...

let's go girls!

Here are my distances for the month so far:

     Swim: 41,700 m

     Run: 59.17 miles

All right, I have reached mjy swim distance, so I will work on adding some mileage. Put me in for 7,000m to help our compadre. I'm running tight on the run, so I don't know there. But if I go over, please use that extra.

Also, this is for Donto. I was looking that the spreadsheet has 43,000 for yards, but my distances that I enter is in meters. Can you make sure that I have an automic adjustment in those blocks. Thanks.

Overall, let's get rolling gent's, as we have less then 1 week. I may train on my day off on monday, but I'm running close to burnout, so I don't know where to stand. Let's go boy's, I think that everyone both boys and girls are running for it. This should be an interesting week next week. Have a great weekend.

Sorry to hear about the infection Greg. Don't worry brother, we'll cover down for you!

I will finish my run distance on Tuesday and then anything extra we can apply to get oyurs done. As for the swim, I should finish that on Monday and maybe be able to get another 1000 or 1500 meters extra. I'll be close on the swim and run but I am pretty sure I'll have a little extra in both.

Let's go guys!

Yep, I can pick up more swimming.  I have 1700 left to make my own goal, so anything after that will help out the team.  I'll finish for myself on Monday and have some extra, too.

cmbcwb3 - 2007-08-23 8:39 AM

GREAT job kicking it up this past week LADIES! It's working!

We CANNOT loose by 0.64%!

Artemis has agreed to try to pick up some more swimming, right? And Chris will try to fit in 20 more miles running.

ALL of us should try to do a little more. I would love to commit to swim more by I have pool problems (Y is closed; outdoor pool up the street was 70F this morning; of course I swam anyway, but if it gets any colder...wetsuit time I guess!) and a probable ear infection I need to have looked at (been dizzy off and on all this week). So I'm stuggling to get to my own goals.

I will do my best to add more next week! THREE days left in this one LADIES... time to bring it!

Thanks, Donto!!!!!

Greg, sorry to hear about the infex, and hope all goes well pre- and in-surgery.

Technically my Sunday's swim would have been on Saturday if it were in the States, but it wasn't, so it's not. Huh??? Well, it'll all get tallied one way or the other. Here's my stats, not including Sunday:

                    Swim (yd)            Run (mi)

Pledged       30,000                 50

Done           25,000                 55.5

Swim: 25,300 of the 29,700 pledged

Run: 90.05 of the 77 miles...that is 100% of my total, plus miles for missing member (13.05 miles)

Will get the rest of the swim miles in with out a prob. So come on ladies...we can pull this out!! I don't know about you but I sure do not want to be on BT in my Swim suit Have a great week!

Ok my totals for the week (ends on Saturday right?)

2300 yds - swim

4.25 miles - run

I still have some training to do this week, but it is starting off great with an OWS today of 800 yds, and a 3 mile run. Then swam in my In-laws pool (approximately 80 yds)

Well I had 18 miles of running to do this week, now I have just under 9 to go.  I still have about 1200 yards to finish the swim.  I'll get that Wednesday I think.  I am taking a rest day Monday.  I think I deserve it.
