Regular 69 | Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official Thread so I did another run-through of my transitions...went well, feel good about that. Had a nice easy spin on the trainer, and tonight I have an easy 30 minute run. A few days ago I had that "why am I so tired, I can't even find the energy to walk around the house" I am starting to perk up again, so that is good. I started laying out all my piles of stuff! Its getting close!!! |

Elite 3495 SE | Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official Thread personally id prefer colder air and warmer water. we had that in florida. it was nice to get in perfect warmer water after freezing sand. im less bothered by those temps on the bike than others given my clydesdale status. whats the bet between the petites and the clydes gonna be? |

Extreme Veteran 833 Strong Beach, CA | Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official Thread My knee is feeling way better so I'm no longer worried about if for race day. Ran 4 miles and rode on the trainer for an hour yesterday with no discomfort, and today (no workouts planned) it's feeling even better.
Whew.
Just finished Macca's book last night....pretty inspiring. |

I think I can get some luggage tags but I know they suggested putting something inside wheel bag and gear bag too. Maybe I am overlooking something here. I just used luggage tags, inside and out on the gear bag.
Yeah I went and bought some and put them on and then I get there and they have tags there that they put on my stuff so a bunch of work for nothing. |

Are we all going to have fun or what!!? I could do without the rain. Cold temps, bring them on. It was 101 when I ran on Tuesday. Almost 95 today. My body will be loving the cooler temps. |

Sweet. We used that service for IMFL and it worked like the bomb. Wife got automatic pings to her cell letting her know whenever I went over a timing mat. Very nice. If you hear anything there phat, please let us know.

8 | Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official Thread I think this might have already been covered but the taper has got ahold of me and I seem to find myself staring at my Cervelo trying to figure out the best way to carry my spare tubular. I'm running an 808 front and 1080 rear and already have my 1080 valve extender set up on the spare, but any pics of what you're doing is appreciated. I'm planning on the behind the seat method. Thanks for the ideas/info. |

Extreme Veteran 494 Olympia, WA | Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official Thread Woohoo! Today I got the ok from my PT to cover the marathon portion of the race. It's been a long road back from the ankle ligament rupture & tear, but I've been running for a while and now we're confident I can make it through without setting myself back. I'll probably only be able to run about a third of it because my running mileage the last couple months isn't enough to support running the whole distance. I'll walk the rest and do my best to be a moving cheering section for all you folks running past me, if I'm actually in front of anybody at that point. For me, it will truly be a case of just being happy to finish before the cutoff. I'm psyched to not have to call it a day after the bike. Now I have to figure out what to put in my T2 bag because I hadn't been planning on using that ... Brad |

Extreme Veteran 483 Pacific NW | Subject: RE: Ironman Coeur d'Alene : Official Thread Alright, y'all. Now I'm getting the sore throat thing. Tea, emergen-C, theraflu, lozengies... Argh! I know this has been covered, but who is racing on latex tubes? I rode on them last week in training with no issue. And then while airing up my tires right before entering transition at the local olympic tri on Sunday, POP! The tube blew. The 2 side-by-side holes were an obvious pinch flat. So now I'm a bit freaked about using them for CdA. I'm going to be VERY close to the bike cut off. A blown tire could make or break the day. On the flip side, a little free speed could help things out. Thoughts? |
