Unusual reversal.

How about gaining weight as opposed to losing. Harder than you would think!

First photo is 125lbs single dad with two kids!

Second photo is 5 years later and a 165lbs re-married dad!

Mine are in my photo album named "Before and After." Warning: The before pictures should require a Surgeon General's Warning. Do not view if you have a heart condition, may be pregnant, or have back or neck injuries.

LeCrac - 2005-01-07 12:29 PM Ok whats the trick? Congrats! The biggest obstacle in the world is your mind.
That's just it - the trick was figuring out that weight loss was like everything else worth doing - no tricks or short cuts. Just less fuel in than fuel expended. Probably not what the dieting gurus want people to learn.

Isn't that the truth!

As I lost and continue to maintain I am asked all the time what my "secret" is.

Well, I watch what I eat every day.

I exercise every day.

Calories in balance with calories out. Period.

They don't like to hear that because many people are lazy. They want the quick fix. Can't say as I blame them. I sure wanted a quick fix for years. What a bummer to find out that there wasn't one.

One day when I was running a marathon (like I run one every day) a sort of "motto" popped into my head as I was thinking about who I am now compared to who I was then.

100 pounds lost, 1000 blessings gained.

I might put that on a shirt...

Does it have anything to do with the french manicure you have??????

Hehe. It was a bit easier to leave that hand in than try and fit my own. Nice catch.

I'm loving these pics, contrats to everyone who's posted.

Teechur - what month were you in WW Magazine? What a great job.

Because of my interest in exercise (like most everyone here), people often ask me the secret to lose weight. I give them the same advice. And great success stories like those posted on this thread affirm that philosophy.

Great job everyone.

I'm still a work in progross but I'll post mine.  The first is Chrsitmas 03  at my biggest  #387.  Second is 2 years later at #241.  The last is me at my last race in August at #230.  Before I started I could barely walk a mile today I ran 9 and could have done more

Like many, my story is still a work in progress.. but I figured I'd share it while the thread is back up on the first page.  I have been working at it over the last year and a half - 30 lbs lost so far... but I didn't realize how big the changes were until I saw the pics.

Check out the 'before and after' folder...

Congrats to everyone who has been able to post on this thread!!  It is great encouragement to us all

Resurecting this because I love this thread.  Steve (doughboy) won't post these himself so I'm forced to do it for him.  The before was taken in May of this year, the current is today!  As of today, Steve has lost a whopping 63 pounds and I can't even guess at how many inches.  I just noticed that he is wearing the same shirt.  All I know is that we are going to spending a lot of money on new clothes pretty soon.  He's also become quite the runner!  Am I proud of him...YES!!!!!

Isn't that your face in your avatar?

SweetK - 2006-10-08 7:34 PM Such great inspiration in this thread. The transformations are amazing. I have a before picture... I'm uncomfortable showing the picture with my face in it on the internet with me in a bathing suit. I cropped my head out of it...I do not know why I am...anyway, I hope to become svelter with triathlon training.
