All right all, here is a quick reminder. As per the rules:

   - Any mileage above 100% is tossed out (that is for anyone and everyone). That being said, going over 100% would be highly encouraged as this would set a new personal best for you, and thus makes it a new goal for you down the road. You are competing against yourself.

   - Any mileage over 100% can only be used for the following people:

~ MuscleMamma - This has been applied on the girls side. She dropped out so 50% removed and rest is transfered to team.

~ Donto for Plantar fassciit.. - Only running can be applied as foot only affects running and not swimming.

~ So Fresh So Clean for blood infection and surgery - Both swim and run.

If there was anything or anyone else, please bring up the issue. Again, this has been a lot of fun, and because some of you are at 100% doesn't mean you are done. Keep going as this new high can be used as a baseline for future challenges.

Good luck and look forward to the end of the week. FOR YOU ALL WITHOUT INJURIES, YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN, AND GET MOVING AND GET IT DONE. THIS IS REALLY CLOSE, AND ANYTHING CAN GO.

Thanks Donto for keeping the mileage and yardage. Cheers.

THANKS for the clarification and recap!

x2

I like the fact that I can try to squeeze in a few more miles/meters even though I am done with my goal. It helps me keep motivated to be able to help the injured guys.

Thanks for the clarification.

As for the "uninjured" out there, time to step it up and get it done!

Let's go guys!

3 DAYS TO GO BOY'S. Talk to the family, and work it ouT. They just need to put up for three more days and go in the morning and in the evening to get the mileage. You can start biking on Saturday, and get back to normal. We need as many 100% finishers. This is where the final score will tip the scale.

I think we should be OK on the swim, as I can make up the swim, as I have already made logistics with a boat to escort me on Friday for a 5.18 mile swim on the lake. I got another old friend in England that has challenged me to swim the English Channel, so I'm starting the training for next years swim. I know, I'm insane, but then I thrive on real insane challenges that no one will do.

Keep it going, we are only ahead by a mere 1%. That is nothing.

Well folks, it looks like I'll be hitting my goals right at the end of the month. Running might be a little over, which can help our fallen comrades. Keep it up boys....my speedo likes it's spot in the bottom drawer.

Any idea how many more running miles we need for our fallen comrades?

I can get in about 10 to 12 miles by Friday night. I'm out of the pool now.....swimmer's shoulder......my swim totals are at 100% plus as is my run at 100%, so anything I'm doing is for our two injured gentlemen.

My swim goal was 12 hrs-  I met that at 27290 yds.  I did an extra 800 yds tonight for the boys.  Not much, but any little bit may help.

Thanks for the clarification, devouahy!

I like that we are making exception for the injured.  It's good for a team-spirit thing and pushes those of us who will make 100% to push even a bit harder.

Can the next challenge be a "sleeping in" challenge???  ;-)

I SO did not want to get out of bed this morning.  But then I stepped on the scale and I've lost another 2 lbs -- more motivation to get out there!  So I did.  What a beautiful swim in the outdoor pool this morning in Bucks County, PA.

How we doing ladies???

Just met my swim goal of 30k yards this morning with my 2,200 yard continuous swim!  Puts me at 31,200 for the month, a new record!

I'll be doing either 4 or 5 miles at lunch, which will get me over my run goal as well.

Go, Ladies!  If I can do it, you sure can! Let's finish strong!

Looking really good boy's, let's keep on rolling those 100%'s. What about the lady's, are we waiting till Friday to post 100%'rs. If you are, that is pretty good trick to surprise us boys.

The goal being that we all push as hard as we can. Remember, it's not how one started, but how one finishes that determines who wins.

Donto,

could you please provide the info on what the lady's need to make up with "musclemamma" and what the boys need for running with "donto and so fresh so clean" and swimming with "so fresh so clean". Thanks.

If we have met that mileage from those three people, please keep on rolling as this competition is also and should really be mainly against yourselves. Try to see how high that mileage and yardage can be and make that a new goal for the month in the future.

You can always pick a sport, and use that high (being the highest in years) to set the new goal in one sport, and work all three while trying to beat that new high. Then rotate with another sport and keep alternating for each month. You'll see your Triahtlon be more balanced and really surprise yourself at the times down the road. Cheers.

Great job to all so far. Cheers!

Donto and all,

So far, I have only two guy's that have injuries, and from that will need mileage made up by rest of team.

Donto w/ plantar fasciitas - This injury places for run mileage assitance and nothing else.

So Fresh So Clean - Blood infection/Surgery - Both swim and running needed

If I missed anyone or anything else, please advise.

For the boys, this game is still very close, and will be very interesting as to how it comes out.  I've looked at the spread sheet, and we are in trouble if you don't complete. I can help with a fair amount of swimming with probably a tentative 5.18 mile swim in the lake. All logistics are finalized, and I'm mentally very excited and ready for it. Somehow, with all the swimming this month, I feel very much ready for it. Cheers.

OK all,
Here's the week 4b updated results reflecting an error made on my part for a goal that was pointed out to me and also the boys 2 injuries.  It just got a bit closer!  For the final week 5 spreadsheet I will go over everone's weekly numbers again to verify I had correct inputs for all.

Have some solid training this week everyone, only 4 days left including today. Tongue out

Girls, I haven't been slacking, I couldn't remember my BT password and for some reason my work computer had "disremembered" it, too. So it's been a few days since I updated my logs; my totals are now all up to date and should be right on track for completion.

I've been really struggling to get my workouts in with the time commitment that coaching is requiring, but have been getting to morning workouts more regularly than I've done in a few years, so thanks for that! So Donto, my logs are updated when you get a chance to review. I think I just hit 100% for the swim as of Monday (440 over, actually, with 18440 actual and 18000 goal), and today at lunch is my last run for the week, which will put me at actual 47.36 from a 38 mile goal.

Keep it up, Bikini Babes - let's keep our suits to ourselves!

the word from the doctor is I have an inner ear infection.

My doc gave me clearance to swim (with ear plugs) so I hit the pool this morning. I'm sorry to say that running still makes me incredibly nauseous. I did one mile last night but that was a major struggle. maybe another day of anit-biotics will do the trick.

I have one more swim session scheduled to make up the rest of my goal. Luckily I have off Friday, so Maybe I'll feel better by then and just run and swim till I can't go no more.

I'll keep working ladies.

I have 2.5 miles (basically) to finish my running.  I will do those plus a little extra to help cover shortage miles for the team.  I am 1200 yards away from my goals, I'll work on covering those with a swim this evening after I get off from work.  I'll likely get a few extra yards in again to cover for injuried team mates.  18000 yards is the most I have done in 2-3 months.

It has been a bit of a challenge since my home pool closed the 24th at 1:00, and several of the times I wanted to swim the pool was closed due to lightning storms.  I didn't get shut out at all in April/May/June but July and August have been crazy with lightning storms.

saling4,

Just keep running the challenge for yourselg until your next sprint, and you will see a srastic improvement. Because Friday is our last day, it does not mean we need to stop. Think as this challenge as a motivator for you to start a new beginning. All challenges should be there to either show a new beginning, or a challenge to see how much more you are capable, and then use that new capability as a new start to work on the next month / years.

Great job to all gent's and lady's so far, I'm really anxious in seeing the results. Also do not try to compare the end results with someone else, but as a challenge about your own self. This is why I enjoy this sport, at first, you compete against yourself and not other. If you compete against other, it should only be because you have reach a level of competitiveness where you can compete. NEVER LOOSE THAT JOY OF WHERE YOU FIRST STARTED. I  did many years ago, and ended stoping completely for many years, and gaining my weight up to 300 lbs. Now I'm restarting a new beginning and making sure that I keep that joy of the sport. It has been the best year, and the most fun I've had in decades. Cheers.
