I think I'll be like Mike and cross the 1000 mile mark in my marathon. It's next week. Pace Rabbit is at 835.62 with 135 miles to cover in the next 2 months. |

Master 4452 | Subject: RE: 2014, Run 1000 miles I hit 1000 this week...but in km, not miles . 634miles. Not going to get 1000 miles for the year, but I am less than 100km to beat last years total, so I should get there. I have a HM coming up in a couple weeks. Keep it up everyone! |

Pro 6520 Bellingham, WA | Subject: RE: 2014, Run 1000 miles Now at 1355 for the year and going strong. I had a stretch where I had to back off a bit because of some longer races (taper/recovery) but am in a great training routine now and am feeling really good. Started doing some work on the track which I love doing and it is benefiting the rest of my workouts. I have a string of 5k's coming up over the next 2 months which I'll just train through. We are very fortunate here in that there are good, cheap local races just about every weekend. |

I feel like we are fortunate in Tally because our 5Ks are usually $8 to $15, 10K/15K about $15, HM $25 to $40. Just signed up for our ultra (our only) for $35, I think. Do ya'll have running club memberships and then discounts in some races? Our membership is $25 for a family for a year and then some races are $2 discounts per person for membership. Also, cost is oftentimes less if opt out of t-shirt. I'm just curious how other areas are. IronOx, keep going and have fun. 1000K is still great. |

We are very fortunate here in that there are good, cheap local races just about every weekend. There is a great local running club that puts on monthly races that are free for club members ($20 annual fee). They are well run and average a few hundred people. In addition to those most other 5k/10k's are about $15-$20. HM's $25 to $40. We also have many trail HM's and ultra's with several very active clubs in the area that are about $20-$50. Seattle and Vancouver, B.C. are less than a two hour drive so all the big market mega races are easy to get too as well though getting very pricey. I surpassed my total run mileage from last year today so everyday now sets a new annual record for me. For bonus points, I hit 2000 miles cycling for the year yesterday. 2500 is my bike goal which is great motivation to begin the new year with a good base as I start into an HIM plan. |

Veteran 869 Stevens Point, Wisconsin | Subject: RE: 2014, Run 1000 miles Well, I have finally started to run again in the past two weeks. It took me a lot longer to recover both physically and mentally from my sickness then I would have cared to admit. I am feeling back to 100% but am still going to ramp up the running slow. I am am at 1113 miles for the year, still shy of my goal of 1200 but I should be able to do it. I have been doing a lot of spinning and some strength training so my fitness is still pretty good. Glad to see that more of you have crossed or are getting close to the 1000 mile mark. Need to get back into marathon shape for the Fargo marathon in May!

Extreme Veteran 1222 Tallahassee, Florida | Subject: RE: 2014, Run 1000 miles Steve, that is cool about the free races for club members! Love hearing how other places do it. Some friends moved to TX and found that 5K registration was about $35 a pop there. Made me realize how lucky I was to be in a strong running community. Got my 1000 miles in - probably mile 19.5 of the mary. Had a great time at Soldier's and excited that my fastest time was the last 7 miles of the race. Now I need to figure out what happen from mile 13.1 to mile 18. |

Plus he executed really well - esp considering he had to cut back on training for the last 5 weeks due to PF issues. And now he has his first 50K in 4 weeks. Edited by Pink Socks 2014-11-10 3:59 PM |

Extreme Veteran 1222 Tallahassee, Florida | Subject: RE: 2014, Run 1000 miles We are closing in on the end of the year but we still have another 5+ weeks to meet goals. I looked over the thread and this is who I think have completed the 1000 miles. If I left anyone’s name off, please forgive me and post so we know you made it. Asalzwed (and I think she is almost at her goal of 3000 miles) PopsRacer (near or past his 1500 goal) Topolina (Goal of 2000) Justin86 Chunga (Goal of 1700) KWDreamun (Goal of 1500) Ransick Mtnwesttri Midwestrimom DonW Pink Socks (Will not make my goal of 1200) I think we have several other people who are finished or almost finished. Let’s hear from all of these people. And even if someone didn’t make their goal, post so we know how you are. Rabbit is at 901.37 today. Edited by Pink Socks 2014-11-25 5:29 PM |

Master 4452 | Subject: RE: 2014, Run 1000 miles I will definitely not make it. However, I have surpassed my run total from last year already, so I am happy with that. I am going to try and make 750 miles for the year. That is just under 100 more km, which I think is do-able. Congrats to all who have made 1000 and beyond! |

Extreme Veteran 1123 Sidney, Ohio | Subject: RE: 2014, Run 1000 miles 1st congrats to all the racers over the past month. Karl, Pinksocks on the marathon PR's, and Ironox for the sub 2hr HM. Looks like all the miles you have put in paid off for the race. For me, I reached 1000 miles and currently sitting at 1072. I was hoping for 1350 on the year but kind of ran out of steam after my September race. I managed to hold on into October and ran a decent HM, but after that lost a little bit of motivation and allowed the milage to drop. Not all bad though as I have picked up the swimming and started to make improvements there. Also the running streak will reach the full year mark on Thursday which is another milestone reached. Of course I think on Friday I am going to sit around and do nothing all day Keep on running everyone |

If you don't make 1350, how about 1243 miles? This works out to 2000 km - as a Canadian I'm happy to set goals in miles or km, which gives me more round number distances to pick from. I'm predicting that I'll finish the year at around 1930 km which is okay with me - my goal was always 1000 miles and not 2000 km and my focus in December will switch to cross country skiing. Besides I need keep 2000 km available as my goal for 2015. Don |

Veteran 869 Stevens Point, Wisconsin | Subject: RE: 2014, Run 1000 miles Congratulations to all of those that have reached their goals, and to those that wont, stick with it to the end! Every mile you run is one mile closer. I reached my goal of 1200 today with a 6.2 miler. Sitting at 1205 miles. I am very pleased with this year. This includes taking time off after being in the hospital for a few days. I'd like to take all the credit but I know that coming here has helped me a lot. So thanks y'all . Just bought my 4th pair of running shoes for the year. The folks at the local running store must love me by now!
