Elite 3779 Ontario | Subject: RE: SBR Utopia - OPEN Disc cover question - do you tape over the hole for the valve. The cover came with a couple of stickers, and I've always used them, but in looking at real discs, most don't have any cover. I assumed there was a negative to not using the sticker, but now I'm thinking I don't need it. Opinions? |

Flying to Indianapolis for meetings, but just heard that I can use the fitness facility (including a new track!) at our collaborator's campus when I arrive and don't have a meeting for like 3 hours. Master 2912 ...at home in The ATL | Subject: RE: SBR Utopia - OPEN After a taper week followed by an unstructured recovery week, I suppose I am back at it and officially starting my 10 week IM build to Lake Placid. I have been on a kind of hybrid plan until now trying to get some speed back for Knoxville, but now I really need to start getting some time on my feet and in the saddle. 4600scy at masters this morning and some fartlek-ish hill repeats sometime this afternoon. On Monday I am going to go up to Spartanburg, SC and ride Mt. Mitchell - 100+ miles and 11,000 feet of climbing, 5000' of which comes in the last 21 miles. So I think I am going to spend a little time on the roadie this week. |

Subject: RE: SBR Utopia - OPEN Got in a good swim yesterday. After slacking on swimming through the middle of April, I've been making a modest effort to get back in the pool for a few weeks and it's starting to pay off. Missed my run this morning because I was installing my old Xlab rear tail on my GF's tri bike. Gawd that thing was a pain, and I remember why now I didn't put it back on my bike. Will try to run at lunch. For the disc cover valve hole question...I cover mine with random stickers. Some from races, sometimes I cut bumper stickers in half, etc. Usually holds on pretty well even in the rain. |

I did 4x1200m at 'I' pace with 400m recovery and it was actually OK, other than the people walking in the fast lane of the track. I am terrible at pacing. I have 2 speeds : too fast and too slow. |
