I'm gonna hunt the hunter, gonna serve'em well done
Nowhere to hide, nowhere to run

I just heard that our new CEO is telling employees to remove family photos from their work areas. This makes me sad. Sends a clear message about work/life balance that does not sit well with me.

He also requires everyone in his meetings to wear suits/ties. Apparently he kicked someone out of a meeting today becuase their area had jeans Friday and the guy was in jeans.

You guys have any strict old-school rules like this?

Thankfully, no!  I'm sitting at my desk wearing shorts and a t-shirt.  One of the nice perks of working at a tech company that believes in good work/life balance and comfort over "fashion".

I'm in the office all my myself.  Weird...  I guess I could strip down naked and start running down the isles yelling "Oklahoma, Oklahoma"?

Evening, TAN.

I wish I could've stayed on and raffed my azz off when the song lyrics section took off, but I had to work.

I got stuck on an hour-long phone call with someone earlier and had to troubleshoot their issue. After an hour it turned out that she needed to just click on a column field in their e-mail browser client to sort their e-mail by DATE so they could see the e-mail that they were missing for approximately a week. Yep. Their fault. Pretty much everything we didn't support she was doing - on a Mac running Safari and working from home, but because they have an account with our system and access our Exchange e-mail server, I had to figure out what THEY did wrong.

After all that frustration and impatience that I had to endure, and with her self-important disclaimers of "I'm an Instructor" (emphasized, mind you), she felt bad afterwards and thanked me several times. She really was happy that I helped her over the telephone and didn't make her feel stupid and that I remained calm and stayed patient. I even have witnesses!

Nighters!

Lazy Saturday for me! I slept till 7:30, chilled until 9:30 then rode. I managed 13.5 miles in an hour while still stopping to chat twice with friends and changing a flat, so I must have been hammering when I was in the saddle. I haven't done jack squat since noon and am going to a party in an hour. Just soaking up the sun and the ocean breeze with a beer on the deck this afternoon.

Actually not to chipper, but thought if I said it enough times it would change my attitude.  Writing someone up first thing in the morning in not my way of enjoying the start of the work week.

Played music for a private party on Saturday night and moved 4 ton of rock by hand to put around pool on Sunday.  Enjoyed time with my family.  Pretty good weekend.

And you?

it didn't suck.  spent a lot of time in the sun on saturday, sunday was kind of hectic and stuck with my in-laws which kind of sucked BUTTT that is a hazard of being married to mr. meh that i'm willing to put up with on occasion.

I'm right there with ya. I'm groggy after a long couple of days and then taking two sleeping pills last night.

Good morning TAN. Cool 50 this morning. Nice AM run, 5 days until Grandma's marathon that I am not really ready for. As for the rest of the day...try to figure out what to do today after a morning coffee and continued job search.

Possibly taking 2 sleeping pills was a mistake.  I still can't feel my brain.

I figured you were that way.

I have terminated people and then seen them a few years later.  Some are very decent and have actually said "Thank You!  You made me change my ways and improve things in my life."   Yes, that is rare, but I have only had to terminate a few compared to people who work HR everyday.

If I were an engineer I would consider it. Need a project manager, team leader, and trainer? I can telecomute too.
