Glad you are OK -- and have to share the weirdest. At around 11pm last night, we heard (in our sleep-ish state) a noise (tree falling?) and then felt an earthquake here. Dave said, "We are having an earthquake." I woke up and felt the bed shaking slightly -- adrenaline starts flowing (I had an extra kid here and one of my kids was gone -- don't like not having my babies during a potentially scary natural disaster).

We lived in the Bay Area long enough to know earthquakes. I double-checked to make sure what we felt wasn't Trip shaking the bed while he scratched or something -- he was about 3 feet away from the bed fast asleep. We were both wound up so turned on the TV to see what the magnitude was. No earthquake coverage. Odd. Turned on the radio. No earthquake coverage. Odd. I got up this morning and immediatly went to the Seattle Times website -- no earthquake coverage. Odd. Huh. We must have both semi-dreamed the whole thing.

Dave found this so peculiar he googled earthquakes and found there was one in Colorado around 11:40pm last night (first one in a bunch of years, like 100's?). And then today's in DC. He said there haven't been any other earthquakes reported in the US recently.

WTF?? Isn't that weird?? Granted, I would not have thought earthquake had he not told me we were having one (I was asleep), but then I was sure I felt the bed shaking slightly. Power of suggestion, I guess. Maybe my husband has some weird tectonic plate sensors embedded in his brain...

that is crazy.  Please no more earthquake dreams.  Our office building closed like many around here to check for damage.  So I ran home.  Off to pick up the kiddos from camp.

THAT was scary sh*t!  I don't like earthquakes especially ones that shake the walls and rumble.

So excited to track Trevor and Tracy this weekend! You both have trained long, smart , and hard. You're going to ROCK Penticton!!!

Linda- Have a great ride this weekend!

Sam- Hot yoga is great, but I like vinyasa/flow/power yoga even better. Depends on the instructor what they call it, but it's very fluid and I find it keeps me from getting bored. Also, the Group Power or Power Pump classes are fantastic for strength training. They usually use hand weights and lots of body weight exercises, and they switch it up enough that you're hitting different muscles and not adapting to the exercises. Plus, it's much more fun than just going to the weight room by yourself.

Anyone Done Cedar point REV3 HIM distance?

I am seriously considering this for next year as my first HIM distance. I will know for sure if I make it through Detroit HM as my first HM... I figure if I can hold it together for that run. Then by next year with more training I can pull off a HIM distance race. I was looking at Steelhead with a friend who has done it a few times. But they seem to cancel the swim often.

Also Cedar Point would be more fun for the other half...

Yhea, I have a small outing planned for Sunday.  The weather is forcasted for low 80's in the day and upper 50's at night with zero chance of rain. That is my kind of race!!   Of course  I have my secret time goals which I will gladly share AFTER the race!    I'm not really nervous about the swim.  I'll be glad to get off the bike just because that is where the nerves come about unexpected problems (flats, broken spokes, etc).  Once I am out on the run it will be the true test of my bravery.  As you all know running is my weakest part and the main issue I've been focusing on.  But I will be very relieved once I get to the run.  I know I'll finish at that point and finally get to talk to people!!!!   And in honor of my pink feddish I bought a BRIGHT PINK pair of compression socks just for the occasion.  No worry about spotting me out on that course!!!

Yay!!!!!!!!!! I LOVED arriving in CDA and feeling like I was with "my people." I think it helped my family realize I wasn't this crazy girl off doing this weird thing all alone... there were plenty of other crazies out there of all shapes and sizes and ages. It's such awesome energy.

Enjoy everything about the weekend Tracy and Trevor!! Words cannot describe what you are in for. Your heart and soul will relish all of the moments! I'm so excited for both of you!! Be smart, be safe, be thankful, be happy, and just be. And as Fatty/Slim always says, SMILE!!!! Oh, and Tracy, you'll find you can have some short chats with people on the bike, too... when people are wearing their names on their numbers it makes them so approachable. I love talking to people out there (well, I just love talking...)!!

Congratulations on making it to this part of the adventure. The best is yet to come!!!
