Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() How about "Long-ish" hair? I prefer it long, but some women look good with short hair. Crazy Crystal Gayle-length is just too long, though. Ick. Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I've had long hair for almost my entire life. In 1st grade my grandmother had it cut short because she liked short hair. I hated it! It's been long ever since I grew it out after that. Right now it's about down to my elbows, and really curly. I figure not everyone can grow long, thick, curly hair, so I might as well since I can. |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() i had short hair until about 7th or 8th grade, when i decided to grow it out to look more girlie (my boobs werent growing). So with swimming and having this mediumish hair plus the natural wave in my hair...it was just a big knotty mess. So in 10th grade, I went for the short spikey cut I have now (see avatar). It's gone through a couple refinements, but I really like it. Its easy to take care of, easy to do, easy to style, easy to just put on a cycling hat to race, doesn't get in my eyes, fits under a swim cap, doesn't get tangled. The red color was something i adopted last year and I really like. |

Not that I'm making fun of VA- but man...there's nothing in VA but mullets!! Edited by runnergirl28 2005-09-14 9:29 PM |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() splerph, I was having the same problem. I was a bit put out that it wasn't the kind of poll that allows you to add your own option. I was going for something like . . . Favorite hari length: a. six months b. three verses c. the distance between two airport gates d. arm's-length |

![]() Pulch - 2005-09-14 2:29 PM A couple of years ago my wife had her head shaved to raise cash for cancer research, so for solidarity I'm going to vote for the slaphead look. That's awesome. Right now I'm engaged in the opposite: I'm growing it out to give to Locks of Love. It's getting to that gross or icky stage where it's a bit too long - hits at about belly-button length now. I'm going to try to keep going till it gets to my hips, if I can stand it. Biggest problem is getting it to stay under my swim cap, but it always gets wet anyway, and it weighs a ton. I figure my hair must weigh about a pound when dry, so I subract that from my overall weight when on the scale! lol I wonder if my racing time will get faster when I cut it off? ![]() |

When I cut it I figured that wasn't drastic enough, so I had it dyed brown that day too. Short brown hair: not a good look for me. You have more than enough hair...if its getting to that icky or nasty split end stage, its time to cut it! They're going to cut those off anyway, it won't be used. Cut it and be free!! |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() max - 2005-09-14 7:27 PM I'm going with the really short hair choice. I like the woman who is the hair stylist on Extreme Make-over. Her hair is really short and she alternately colors it pink or blue. I could sit and stare at her for hours, it's enormously sexy! Would you stare if my hair is short and spiky, black with copper/red highlight? Had a hair-color accident once. Went to a cheap hair-dresser (son of mom's friend), asking to do a brown highlight. Natural hair color is pure black, so it's hard to put color on. Cheap hair-dresser decided to bleach my hair to brown, coz his crappy chemical didn't do anything to my hair. When the procedure was done, I had strips of bleach-blonde hair all over my original black. If I were a rock star, I would have love it. But my dad was very conservative and that time was a week before his 60th b-day party... so I told cheap hair dresser to fix it, at least cover it with brown. Again, his cheap chemicals had strange reactions with my hair and the bleach-blonde strips became PINK! I looked like a freak. From then on, I would not let him touch my hair again. Finally went to another hair-dresser and he turned my head into a brunette, which was fine. But for a whole year, I had messy, chemically-damaged hair.... |

It feels like it's taking forever, but I want to get it long enough so that after i donate 10 inches I won't have to have it really short. I don't look good with short hair! But I don't think I could stand it getting down to my hips or belly button- girl donate your hair now!!! |

If I do it now, my hair will hit just exactly at my shoulders, so maybe I'll try for another inch. But, even though it's starting to bug me, it's also strangely facinating to see how long I can get it. Plus, when I curl it and fluff it up I look like a Texas beauty queen! Thats kinda fun: having the biggest hair in the room! ![]() |

Extreme Veteran![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Definitely depends on the woman. My wife has long hair, almost to her waist, and I love it. So I guess I prefer long. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I think any hair-style that compliments a woman's personality is perfect for her. It has to be something she feels good in, and makes her feel sexy. Same with guys. newbiedoo - 2005-09-15 4:35 AM Pulch - 2005-09-14 2:29 PM A couple of years ago my wife had her head shaved to raise cash for cancer research, so for solidarity I'm going to vote for the slaphead look. It's very very long now -- down to my waist. It needs a good trim right now, as a summer of swimming and sun has taken its toll. To keep my hair under my swim cap I have to braid it first, then roll it up. For training, I use a fabric swim cap (my hair gets wet even with the plastic caps), so that stretches to hold it on. Getting the crappy latex caps on over it can be a hassle though. I also wonder what my scale would show if I cut my hair short (which won't happen). Now if I could just figure out a way to keep it from turning into a giant dread-lock during a race... |
