It's his commuting car and our camping vehicle. Love that car, too!) We had an '87 Westie (it was my husband's that he bought before he knew me, so I can't claim it) that we sold to buy the truck. We needed the truck for hunting and hauling a trailer, but man, I miss the Vanagon! We had so many great trips in that van! Whenever we strike it rich, that will be be our first purchase! |

You had the little egg too??? HILARIOUS! I started driving in 1990.. Yep, it looked like a little egg. Very good gas mileage, but not as good as I expected, lousy acceleration, good reliability. My brothers were saying that a friend owned one and it was a rusted out piece of 10 year old garbage. I replied that it made it 10 years, and that was pretty good to me. It was between the Mazda and the small Acura, and I decided to save $2,000. Unfortunately, I decided I wanted a better car after four years, and I realized I could have driven the small Acura a lot longer. I bought the Camaro, and it was the only time I made a decision on a car based on what I could afford, instead of what I needed. |

I knew there was a reason not to like you! I have always wanted a Ferrari...although my color of choice would yellow. I'd don't know why anyone would give away a Ferrari! |

Just as well, cops were always pulling me over for something; even got flagged down outside a Phish concert by a hippie that was low on pot. Quite the conversation starter with older folks who drove them 25 years earlier. |

Veteran 131 Tampa, Florida | Subject: RE: Cars you've owned and driven I've had a lot of cars, but by far the most interesting one, was the one my parents bought for me from Southwestern Bell when I was sixteen. It was an early 80's model Ford Escort. It was white, and the blue and yellow stripe down the middle of the car had been painted over with white paint, but it still showed through. Oh, and it beeped really loudly when you put it in reverse. I would get up very early for school so that I could be assured of a parking place at school where I wouldn't need to use reverse.....lol. I really don't miss that car. |

Well, in my case, it's combined cars. I've only actually owned 5 cars, in the same time frame. One I passed on to my sister, one I "passed" on to my ex, the others I've driven to the end. I knew Eric was a keeper when he showed up with a 15 year old car. When he bought the Rav, he was clear with the dealer that he expected to drive this car for at least 20 years. |
