Subject: RE: Do You Enjoy Training Or Not?I like both equally. For me, every bit of training is focused on some part of the race. Every time I go out, I'm practicing some little part of the race. If its not actually at race pace, its mental, its physiologic, or nutritional, practice for race day. So its hard to just enjoy one and not the other. I also really enjoy the structure that training for a race provides. Also helps with the IBD, so that's a plus. The only thing I don't enjoy in the moment is swimming. I'm not very good yet, but every once in a while I'll put together like 3 or 4 good strokes and it just feels awesome, makes it all worth it. Especially as those sets of good strokes become more frequent. I think its the perpetual climb towards perfection that I find most enjoyable. Its something I can always keep getting better at, from now til the day I drop dead. |
