So sorry to hear this.  Thank you for posting and please keep us updated.  Is Richard also in Littleton hospital?  My family lives in Denver and my Mom works for Porters.  They are both in my prayers.

Oh wow, so not what I wanted to read on here. Definitely will be keeping both in my prayers! I've read plenty of race reports of theirs and they are top notch athletes.

I live a few blocks from where the accident happened and drove through the scene about an hour afterwards.  There were a bunch of emergency vehicles, and ton of people being interviewed by the cops.  Even if the driver didn't stop, s/he would have been ID'd quickly.  I saw the bikes on the ground.  It made my stomach turn.  Didn't realize until just now who it was.

This is a very popular training route, and there are always bikes on this road.  Julia and Dime would have been carrying some speed on a long gradual downhill.  The car would have had a left-turn lane and a turn signal, so the car probably failed to yield on a solid green.  Absolutely rediculous.

FYI, Julia was getting ready for Worlds.

C'mon, Dime - it's go time. Best of thoughts for getting out of the woods quickly, and to Julia for a speedy recovery.

ETA: Mark, if Julia or Richard need anything, let me/us know.

Oh my gosh! I heard about this on the news yesterday.... just awful. I met Richard @ Tri The Creek and I've been following his training closely. I pray for a quick, full recovery. This is simply awful. Sending good karma their way.

My thoughts and prayers are with Richard and Julia.  Both have always been so nice to me and made me feel every bit a triathlete...even though I've always felt like such a "peon" in the triathlon world.  They are both strong and I wish them both a strong and speedy recovery.

Prayers and positive thoughts....

A friend's son just came home from the hospital after being in a coma for about a week after a cycling accident.  It looks like he'll make a full recovery with no long-term effects.  I pray its the same in this case...

Replied in now-defunct COJ thread, but wanted to post more encouragement since I imagine friends and maybe even family are reading this--my prayers are with all of you. I can't say anything to make a horrible time less horrible but please know you are supported and not alone.
