I'm still in if it's not windy like today. Is it supposed to warm up?

10:00 am shove off from the Rockpile. It isn't going to be very warm but it shouldn't be too bad.

By the time you start the climb you will be wishing it were colder!

Have fun. Wish I could go but the Mrs and I will be going out of town for our annual vacation without the kids. (Woohoo!)

Mrs. brown_dog_us - 2009-12-28 6:07 PM Doug is still in, and me if the grandparents are willing. . .

You could always put the kids in the trailer and get a real workout.

I think that's a great plan for you Doug!  I might be able to keep up with you that way.

James it's the same place we rode from last year. Just take 400 to Dahlongea and keep on going toward Suches. You can park on one of the pull offs before Woody Gap.

Here is some food for thought.......every forecast I look at says it is going to be high 20's/low 30's when we start. Now take into account that we are going to be climbing up to the top of the various gaps and it is going to be colder. I am very close to bailing on this myself and just doing the Grind workout instead.

Wow, our fearless leader is thinking of bailing?  And I was really looking forward to seeing Stephanie pull that trailer up the Gaps.  Hopefully it warms up by then.

I can pull it up Eves (with lots of encouragement from Jamie Corn), but probably not a 2 mile climb like that first gap.

With a high in the 30s, we are probably out anyway.  Definitely will take a raincheck, though.

That was me in the last post.  I forgot to log Doug out before I started typing.  Doug can pull the trailer up the Gaps with no problem.

If no Gaps, I will plan on doing SCT 50 (regardless of how cold it is) starting at 10 AM from Cooper Lake Rd?  Behind the elementary school.  We can meet up with others that want to start a little further down the trail.  Just drop a note.  I think at least Chris (alltom) and I will do SCT.

Brett - Since you started the Gaps ride idea, you get to officially kill.  So, your call.

Consider it dead then......we'll try again when the weather isn't so bad. 18* on a bike is just too cold.

There are two other options for rides on Sunday. Lifetime Fitness in Woodstock has a ~30 mile ride around Roswell/N. Cherokee area that leaves at 1pm and The Sportfactory has an indoor grind session from 10 am -12pm. You can PM me if you need more information about either event.

For Pete's sake, I leave town for like 5 minutes and look at what happens! Anyone else interested in something local besides captin?

All bets are off if it's raining, tho..

It's 82' and sunny here in Fajardo, if any one cares.

Single digit wind chill...I will not be riding the Comet today.  Serious cold today!  Can't imagine how cold the gaps would have been.

I was planning on doing cartersville on sunday with my coach but they cancelled too. Did 3 hour grind on the spin bike which was good. Don't feel like such a wuss now!
