There are a handful of good ones, but not worth jacking this thread over. Like Tony Luke's as well, but the only one that counts is on Oregon Ave. |

I'm not sure what they do with them, but the flavor and texture are very different from the usual pretzel bites or Super Pretzels you find every where else. I have relatives who have moved out of the area, and they used to have us ship them pretzels a couple times a year, and they would load up with a couple dozen to take home whenever they visited. If you're ever in the area, you need to try them. The chicken and waffles are kind of like thanksgiving dinner with the gravy. |

We decided it's state fair related, we have an amazing array of "things on a stick" that we think about all year. Also, lots of great local beers! I think our best is Surly, which is not widely distributed yet. Some day you all will get to appreciate this, I hope. This is something I would get if I left town and came home to visit, for sure. |

A good shrimp or oyster poboy is getting harder to find even locally. And now I'm hungry. |

Ahh, if we're including beer this is where Seattle shines. Black Raven, Mac and Jacks, Silver City, Iron Hose, too many to list. These are what I would miss if we moved away. |

Chicago also is known for hot dogs and Italian beef, but obviously I don't eat those either! So I guess I would say Chicago-style thin crust pizza is best here. Although variations of that type of thin crust are common throughout the Midwest, I think that Chicago style thin crust is better than St. Louis style or the other kind I have eaten. Oh and Intelligentsia coffee! That stuff is crazy good. I actually enjoy the taste of their beans but you have to make it at home how they suggest: with a Chemex. It's almost like drinking a nice wine. |
