Bob 2194 Binghamton, NY | Subject: RE: Sept Run/Bike Challenge .... I would say if you felt like you were working as hard as a normal ride and your normal pace on a bike is around 17 mph then the mileage is probably accurate. When I take spinning classes I usually use heart rate average to determine ride distance to log. I estimate a little conservative so I'm not padding the miles on my log. I hope this helps and keep up the good work.

Veteran 204 | Subject: RE: Sept Run/Bike Challenge .... Daremo - 2006-09-03 12:04 PM Official protest already. "gsgalloway" claims to have run 25 miles yesterday at a 7:12 pace .......... I call bullsh-t ........ I have been calling that on his logs to myself for all of last month, but now I will say it out loud. So you can claim a sub 8 for 18 miles but impossible for me. Huh sounds like talking out of both sides of your mouth to me but whatever. Shawn if you are running a 5k at 7:12 you will be looking at my back. Anyway you guys think whatever you want. I will continue to put in my miles and saddle time and swim. But since one can only expect to be put down on this site because they have talent and have a great base of training, then I will no longer participate and since my logs bother you so much I will make them viewable to only me. |

Cycling Guru 15134 Fulton, MD | Subject: RE: Sept Run/Bike Challenge .... Difference is, I've got the mileage, the races and the results to back it up. I can link all my official running, cycling, and tri. results for the last year. No one is questioning my work ....... they know it is real. No one logs the types of mileage you do on this site, in fact, no one but a pro keeps up the type of schedule you have. 8 hours each day in a weekend? I've been doing endurance sports for 18 years and have the experience and knowledge to know when to call bullsh-t. I call it when I see it, and there is an honor system on the site. You either choose to use it or not. Simple way to prove your mettle, find some local BT'ers and let them spend the weekend with you to see how you do. Do you even have a concept of what a 25 mile run at a 3:05 marathon pace does to someone physiologically???? No one in their right mind who knows anything about endurance sports would do that the day before a race. Unless you are a consistent 2:30 marathoner, it is easy for even the less knowlegable on the site to call BS. And if you are, I want linked results for the past year. Then I would honestly apologize for my brashness and calling you out. Bottom line, if your in this "challenge," I'm not ....... I actually ran over 200 miles last month. |

Bottom Line is I know what I have done so I do not care what you and your 18yrs have taught you, you still have no idea what I am capable of 200 miles in a month is easy for me and I know I ran it. As far as you demanding things from me forget it I will not do anything you think you are entitled to get from me. My integrity is in tact never ever question my honor. 18years compared to my 10years is good I am glad for you. But I do have the time I need to know my limits. The kind of time I put in is up to me and I choose to train like I do. I will post my racing starting in the 2007 season so you can see. I will bow out of the challenge so do what you want. |

This fact makes me smile But actually I smirk Because I know darn well The fast cyclists were still at work! Mother Nature is catty As I was soon to learn I forgot my sunscreen And she gave me a nice burn So all you other BT teams Entertaining a September bike/run fetish Off your butts, hit the pavement Love the Pickles, with relish!! |

Doctor wants me off the foot (completely) for several days and not running on it for at least a week or two, which means I've got no chance to hit 50 miles. What happened to your foot??? Sorry to read your bad news, hope you are better soon! |

Master 2231 Des Moines, Iowa | Subject: RE: Sept Run/Bike Challenge .... After 2 days it's the Griffins! (I feel like I'm in a Harry Potter movie....) Good job everyone...my guess is that after a full week the team % will get much closer! Here's a suggestion. For any teams having people logging their goals in Kilometers, let's change the goal to KM's and post it that way. Since we're going off percentages anyway, it won't affect the results and it will be much easier to accumulate results. So...LeCrac and jknapman...I've already indicated this on your line (and the actuals are in km's....please let me know your new goals, or if the original ones were in km's). And then...mdunn can you give me some new goals in km's also....and we'll repost the results with your actuals in km's. Keep up the good work!!! ps...please let me know if you see any problems. I've attached the spreadsheet so those of you more proficient in Excel can review. Thanks :-)
