Too far for me right now... 5+ hours? I have new bike on the brain (don't get me started on my saga -- it's driving me INSANE!!) taking up all of my time, not to mention training!! And kids off school next week! And my parents arriving in 45 minutes! Ack! Time to get the oven preheating for dinner!!

Dude, that's awesome.  Seriously would like to know how much trainer time you had.  You guys were covered up with snow this year.  I don't know if I could it.

That is impressive!  I don't know how so many of you spend so much time on the trainer.  These 4 hours trainer rides recently sound painful!!!

I'd like to give a public THANK YOU to Tony and Sam for this weekend.  My family was up in the MD/DC area and Tony and Sam were gracious enough to rearrange their holiday/training plans to accompany my hubby on his 50 miler on Saturday.  I was nervous about him riding alone while the rest of the family was out of rescue range, so Tony and Sam made arrangements for Tony and Doug to ride together.  Doug said he had a great time and I am super lucky to have such a wonderful support group of friends to draw on.  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

Going back and reading this whole exchange really made my Monday...  Thanks.

Hit 4 miles! It was hard and a bit brutal (40mph winds!), but I did it! I'm still having that side stitch issue. I seriously hate it!

I got new tires for my bike and I felt a little bit faster...at least it feels easier to ride on the roads. The lame-o thing was after posing for pictures, 5 seconds into the ride, *pssssssttttth*. Tires go flat. How lame is that?!  I had 6 guys helping me, and the inner tube has no hole in it, so they suspect that I didn't tighten my valves, so when I went over a slight hump, the top of the valve hit the plug, thus causing all the air to come out.

However, I did very well on the nutrition! Felt great!

Soon everyone has lots of races to do, I'm excited!  My first charity ride is this weekend. Although I had to drop out of 100k, and do 50k instead, I'm okay with that. I'll be battling big hills!

Quiet day around here.  Hopefully everyone is outside enjoying some nice weather!

A question for the ladies of the group.  My wife is doing her first tri in June.  I am looking to get her a tri top and shorts.  We visited the one shop we have that carries tri clothes and she found shorts that she likes but not a top.  She wants something that has built in support and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions of a brand/style.

Thanks for any info you can provide!

Wow, it looks like BT went crazy.  Sorry about all the posts above.  I think finding a good pair of tri shorts is more important than the top.  Personally, I like the Sugoi tri shorts but I think I've worn a different top for every race I've done.  Most women wear a tight fitting sports bra/tank top style top.  One that is tight enough to be worn comfortably during the swim but still functional for the rest.  Sometimes pockets help, it's optional.   She should try any of her favorite workout tops and wear them in the pool.

I also think it depends on how much support she wants for the top! I also bought a Sugoi tri shorts, and they're very comfortable.

The top part - I would assume that it depends on her boobie size.  If it's small enough, it probably will not need support, but if it's well endowed, then probably a wick (not COTTON!!) sports bra will do the trick.  I am still waiting for my top, so I have to wait and see if it has enough support, if not, I can just easily buy a sports bra. Simple as that.

Non-westsuit race:  I love my sugoi top and bottom.  However, I have been known to wear the sugoi bottoms with my SkirtSports top.

Wetsuit race:  sugoi bottoms and a sports bra.  Then in T1 I'll throw on some top...something fun - not tight as that is way too tough to get on wet.

I also have a Desoto top and bottoms...hate them!  It was an impulse buy, and I'm sorry I spent the $. 

So what happens if they water temp is 78F or higher? Do we get to wear our wetsuits? Or is that only if you are planning on placing in your AG?

Sort of....But seriously i did hear the water temp was getting really warm for Lonestar.

Hey everyone. If you have not used your wetsuit in a while, you should soak it in the tub for at least 5 minutes before using it for the first time. It will go on easier. Wetsuits retain water for some time and this will make things easier.
