However, he had to go back to Perth today so I can finally get peak training other than strength and flexibility in. Innocent

That's the tip of the iceberg. The back stories of his life are even more amazing than his frickin' ridiculous pretty much unmatched accomplishments.

Oh yeah. More skin pics. If you noticed I always stand sideways in pics--great way to reduce the horizontal profile and look slimmer!--but this is the rare straight-on shot. I'll still be big in Japan (or that's the plan) but littler than I have been in a long time.

I feel unusually calm about it today!

Did a 4.30am trainer ride today - I couldn't face starting my day with BrB so Arrested Development - first time I've seen it.  Yep I like it.

Has anyone been watching Orange is the New Black - i fancy that too.

I had the most ridiculously brutal workout on the track last night. It was pathetically funny, actually.

I guess I was feeling a little cocky after my milk mile, perhaps a little invincible. I caved into a rather odd craving of McDonalds like 15 minutes before practice started. Oh yeah, and it was hot and muggy out too. I know some of you can sympathize with this.

I did a 30 mile bike ride earlier in the day and over 100 miles in the past 3 days. When I was warming up my legs felt super sluggish. I was telling my training partner, "Ah man, my legs are shot. This is going to be a slow workout."

And then, once I said that, I felt that I had to try and prove myself wrong or something? I dunno, I am weird like that.

So we do our usual warm-up quarter (I generally run 85-90 seconds as it's just a way to get your legs moving quicker) and I run it in like 79! Not the way you want to start a workout.

Then we get to the workout. 7 x 1000 @ 4:05 going down to 4:02

First rep: One shoe came untied, I had to step off, tie shoe and then run solo

Second rep: way too fast 3:55

Third rep: Stomach churning from mcdonalds

Fourth rep: Other shoe comes untied!!!

Fifth rep: Full on collision with some dude who walked into lane one talking on his cell phone!!! I straight up stiff armed him, I literally looked like the Heisman trophy. I have patience for pedestrians on the sidewalk who  walk in front of me but on a track that is totally fenced in???

Oh yeah, and I left my shirt at the track. I get out of the car and I suddenly feel that, "I think I am missing something." At some point, and I don't know what point exactly, but it's a little inappropriate to be seen by your neighbors in sweaty running clothes and no shirt.

SO much good, crazy stuff in there.

Have fun.  Smile all day.  At everyone, - my tip for staying calm in the swim is look for the panickers and try to ease their minds, takes your mind off your own problems

The bike is picnic time, eat and drink and be merry.

The run - is a sufferfest but it's over.

Thank the volunteers.

PSA for those of us who use Strava.  We all know that Strava is not amazing at giving you the ability to see/sort your accomplishments easily (at all). I've found a site www.veloviewer.com where you can allow them to link to your strava account and they give you an amazing sort of all of your segments and accomplishments. I have WAY more QOM's than I knew about!!!

I hate when I miss a whole day of posts, it is so hard to catch up!  Mostly I remember the pic of some hot chick in a pink bikini....

I got K and the little baby dog off on their flight today (not without having to go all the way to the airport, then have to turn around and come all the way home and then go all the way back because an important piece of paper with the Veterinarians signature on it was forgotten...Undecided).  I fly out tomorrow evening.  Belgian beer, here I come!

Great stuff. Again, most of all--have fun--the day is actually over sooner than you think so just enjoy. No matter what happens it's good experience and that's what your first is for.

I posted a panic thread in Tri Talk before my first HIM

Yeah, race day excitement will probably have you pushing well, so make sure to keep that in check. The run looks like it might have a few good hills on it, so another reason to watch it before that and while starting off on the run. Things aren't going to go perfectly, but they don't have to go anywhere near that for it to be a good day.
