The wind has been pretty strong the last few times I rode the  Beeline.  This weekend there was a strong headwind as I was riding north.

7 mph winds predicted, is that a strong wind?  Winds are 10+ here in Denver the last week and it was rough.

When is everyone arriving in Arizona?  I am driving from So Cal, it's about a 4+ hour drive from where I live.  I plan to be there Thursday late morning.

I am leaving the Springs and arriving in AZ on Thursday around 3pm.  I am looking to do an easy run that evening and grab a bite to eat (any recommendations from locals??).

I have to admit, I am remaining fairly calm with this event coming so close. I have a feeling all that will change when I arrive in Phoenix.  Safe travels to all.

I hope his thermometer is off.  At the rate we're going the water temp should be in the mid 50's by race day.

I did a sprint way back when, granted it was only 750 meters, but it was 52 and it was absolutly brutal.  I am not good in the cold water.  I am a bit concerned. Come on heat wave!

Anyone wearing any cool/different jerseys?  I will be wearing this on the bike, mainly because it's my kids' favorite and since they won't be there, it makes me think of them.  Plus you will be able to say hi as you pass me.

I just went to look up your real name. If I see that jersey I'm yelling "Josh!"
Have a great race.

Me too.  I have a neoprene cap and a poly fleece rash guard to wear under the wetsuit and I'm still a little concerned.  I'm not that strong of a swimmer so its not like I'm gonna be out of the water in an hour.

Leaving for the Philadelphia airport in about 15 minutes.  Plan on a 40 minute run around Tempe Town Lake this evening to get a feel for things.  Maybe I will see some of you out there.  Does anyone know if there is signage up yet for directions on the run course?

There was a post earlier saying athletes get to park in a garage next to the village but looking at the Athletes Guide it is saying to park at the US Airways lot.  Is this lot close to the start?  Is this the same lot they were referring to?

Hope to meet some of you in Tempe!!  If not, everyone have a great race!!

BTW, on the Bike Jersey topic.  I will be wearing a Highroads Cycles Tri Club shirt for most of the race and the last loop of the run I will grab my EMC Jersey, from my special needs bag, which is white and blue and easy to spot.  I want to wear this for the finish pic.

What's a poly fleece rash guard?  I expect to be in the water for longer than 1.5 hours! (   I could use some extra padding too!

Thanks and Good luck to everyone!

unfortunately, I am arriving on friday at 11:00 am.  So I am going directly to register to avoid any problems.

As for the jersey? This si what I am hopefully wearing ( I am still waiting for it as it is coming Fedex).  The are 100 other athletes wearing this kit but I am pretty sure I am the only clydesdale.

We're leaving Denver, early early Thursday, hope to be down there late afternoon....I must admit, I am getting a little more geeked up each day this week.  Hopefully the water temp doesn't drop much more, as I will be one of the slower swimmers (although maybe this will help me want to get out faster and therefore finish faster on the swim)....Good luck to all and have a safe race

How fast did Arizona sell out last year. I am going to be away on a hunting trip and will not have access to a computer until Monday. If it sells out fast like IMFL I may have to get my wife to register me while I am away.
