I was destroyed by the flu over the weekend, so I think it's a artificially low weigh in since I really didn't eat any food yesterday. Feeling like crap today, gonna take a few days at least off training and get well. I don't know, in the past for me, something like that broke the plateau and was able to keep it off and drop some more. |

Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Down another 1.2 for the week. Not as much as I was hoping for but better than I expected with the way I felt this week. Diet was ok but could have been better. Looking forward to a good weekend of eating right and training hard. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() 204 again this week. Disappointing to say the least as I got in some really good training this week and was pretty darned disciplined on my diet. But hey I'm feeling good, looking good (if I do say so myself), and I didn't put any weight on. It's like I always say, eat right, train right and the weight will take care of itself. Nice to see some weight dropping going on.

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Well I missed a few workouts this week to spend time with my son which he comes first no matter what but diet was still good and I lost 3 pounds. Down to 245.4. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() No change, no surprise. Still getting over my chest cold and have little energy. Got in a couple of swims this week, and a HIIT workout, so I'm getting back into it, but it's only been 2 days! Back to counting calories too, again, only for a couple days, so it's no surprise I'm stalled. Coming week should be good though, since I'm getting my energy back now. Hope everyone else is doing well! |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Don, Inspiring story of fighting through the workout. Sherm, listen to yourself. Yes your weight isn't exactly where you want it but you are an IRONMAN! Lisa - good point, I also never feel that bam! with a new diet, but I also eat pretty cleanly (yes, then I throw some junk in on top of it every now and then), but I'm no stranger to lean meat, veggies and fruit. Have been getting in some better workouts and loving it. Get off the stationary bike after 75 minutes and can't wait to lift weights. Happy with my workouts - building a base that I'll be kicking a** when my training starts at the end of the month! 1/6/2013 165 1/11 163.5 1/18 160.5 1/25 159.5 2/1 158.5 2/8 160.5 2/15 165 3/8 163.5 I enjoy everyone's posts even if I don't respond personally! Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Friday weigh in, I'm at 192 pounds this morning. It's a short weigh in week as I'm transitioning from a Monday weighing to Friday weighings (since that's what everyone else seems to do), but down 2# from Monday. 6# since last Friday. I've been sick all week and did exactly zero workouts (finally succumbed to the flu that has rampaged through my kids' classrooms!). Very low appetite combined with calorie counting on mfp lead to the weight loss. I feel apologetic, mostly to my wife who gets so annoyed at how quickly my body can lose weight when I decide to. In related news, I've officially decided to go vegetarian. As the primary cook for a family who is glad to join me going meat free it won't be that hard. The hard part will be going dairy free, which I'd also like to do. That's a lot harder as we are a big milk/yogurt/cheese family. No meat for now, I'm going to slowly phase out dairy as I can (read, as I am allowed to |

New user ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I have been sick all week, allergies I think if not then its strep. I have gotten to the pool all 3 days this week but have not run till tonight. I fell off the eating wagon hard this week! Biscuits dripping in butter, 4 cupcakes and huge Paleo beef stew for dinner on Wednesday night. Thursday was full of snacking and I had bagels for breakfast this morning. Tonight's swim felt good and the run felt even better. So the bad news is I have not gotten on the scale this week but my belly measurement was 41" even this morning! So down 3 inches since February 1. I will jump on a scale at some point this weekend |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() David, I'm sure you are aware of all the products out there. I love the Silk vanilla light soymilk. When worried about too much soy I'll use the new Almond milk Plus - has added non-dairy,non-soy protein. At the supermarkets. The produce sections have a little soy product section. The sliced soy cheeses aren't bad. Kinda melt and are good in eggs or on a sandwich. Earth Balance - a good, healthy soy based butter substitute. Hubby is vegetarian and lactose intolerant. I'm lactose intolerant and my kids 13 and 14 are now too! We do pretty well, just be careful of doing a protein rich cereal (like Kashi Golean which uses soy) and eating it with soy milk. Soy is a bean and I've been pretty embarrassed before I started with the Beano's. Good luck, Mitzi |

doing it as a training race as after 2.5 seasons of tris I went off and moved, bike raced for a year and then got mono....so first tri since spring 2010 - but no not my first HIM - definitely undertrained but ok with it - doing it to finish - the Olys later in season are what I am gunning for and this whole season is more recovery (mono really kicked my azz) and getting back into it - not that I will ever be fast, but can try to improve....
best part: I leave for Puerto Rico tomorrow!!!!! |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hi all, sorry for being MIA....have been out of town at a Fitness Business Conference....a great quote...."When something does not go according to plan, put it in a box, throw it off the cliff and keep moving forward!" It was said in relation to business, but it applies very well to diet and life overall. BE AWESOME TODAY, everyone! |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I just want to share some goals with you DOWNers... Goal #1: Sub-30 5K, off the bike, by June 2, 2013... just in time for the Breezy Point Tri. Goal #2: Sub-60 10K, off the bike, by June 23, 2013... just in time for Rev3 Williamsburg. Goal #3: HM in 2:15:00 or less. Haven't decided on a deadline yet... I guess I'll have to just find a race to do. :-) Goal #4: Complete the OBX Olympic Tri in 3hrs or less!! All I need to do is trim down, maintain my body weight in my 220-225 comfort zone (which also, conveniently, keeps me in the Clyde Club), and work on my swim. BRING IT!!! |

Champion![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() ChrisM - 2013-03-07 7:13 PM Guess this is where the monthly thread peeps went? ChrisM here, before tris I was 270, worked my way down to 240 or so, then met scubapunk and came here. raced tris anywhere from 225 (IM) to 240. In 2011 got fed up and went from 240 to 205. Went up a bit again, and decided to get really serious and start counting calories (i.e., being accoutnable). Since October down from 210 to 189 this morning Goal was to end 2012 as a non clyde (met), and now to race Oceanside 70.3 on March 30 at 185 and Wildflower on 5/4. Doing IM Canada in August, maybe stay at 185, or...? Problem is a week in Cozumel after wildflower... need to not go crazy
189, WOW that is awesome Chris! Keep up the good work! |
