Quite a difference between Accuweather and Weather Channel for Sat. In Windsor, CA. 12 degree difference. Weather Channel is predicting 88 degrees and Accuweather is predicting 100 degrees. Hope it is the former not the latter.

Accu-Weather should change it's forecast for race day tomorrow. They seem to be only accurate 7 days out. Looking like high 80's though which is not great but much better than 100.

Did last tune up ride today, 3hrs followed by short T-run. Sick of waiting around during the taper, ready to race!!

Ha. Yeah this taper still takes a good amount of time but the long days feel super short now. My legs are FINALLY feeling better after bashing the hell out of them for the past 10 weeks. I should feel like a million bucks on race day I just ran 6 miles in 94 heat with 35% humidity. Wasn't bad at all. If the humidity can stay low like this for the race, then higher temps won't be too bad. Still would like it cooler but I'm mentally prepared for hellish conditions.

Do they have food at the expo? I was hoping to plan my day with the meet up, lunch, and then expo + prep. Guess I can grab lunch on the way.

I went for a final open water swim tonight. It felt real good. It was nice to get out in my sleeveless and swim once in open water before next week.

Haven't been running much so I can let my heel settle down. I am probably going to use the elliptical or aqua jog beyond a short transition run tomorrow,

Have a great weekend everyone. Look forward to meeting all on Friday.

Last longish run done. 8.5 miles. I was kind of dragging. That's okay though because it is done and we are about to begin race week!!

Bike is at the shop getting cleaned and packed for travel.
Started packing today! Or rather, just throwing everything onto my couch in one big pile

Same here. I got 8.7. I had to stop and walk twice though I thought I was going to lose my lunch. Guess 3 hours still isn't enough time after eating spaghetti to try to run. I am getting sick of the heat here though. Today's "high of 86" day ended up being closer to 95 by the time I finished my run. Temp on race day is looking like 86 right now. Hoping for better but it could always be worst.

I'm nervous since I haven't started packing anything yet. I took Wednesday off and am making that my pack day so I guess I'm don't feel too bad. At least I finally decided on my shirt choices this weekend. My shoulders/back got burnt to hell from the 3 hours of wearing my tri shirt Saturday. I won't look as spiffy in my pictures wearing normal shirts (ones with sleeves) but oh well, that's what I decided to wear. My shoulders will thank me from the 10+ hours of sunlight I'll save them.

6 days! I already ordered my 140.6 sticker and I'm super excited to come home and slap that sucker on my car!

Bib numbers are posted on the participants list. Bib number 444 for me. I began getting a little more serious today about packing. My wife had me doing a lot of chores all day before I leave wednesday morning. Can't blame her.

Two days of work and then it is time to head south to Cali. Looks like the weather is much better than the previous forecast of 100 frick'in degrees. That Scared me for a few days.

Are folks using the changing tents or have you used them at Vineman in the past?I may have to at both T1 and T2. How far away are they from transition?

Have a great week. Here we goooooooooooooooo.......

Is anyone planning a swim on Friday morning? I'm thinking of getting out there around 7 or so just to get in the wetsuit and get a feel for things.

I want to! Need to check with my housemates. I am assuming it's "open" and we can just hop right in?

Been away from BT for the last few days, so a few things to cover:

I would also like to meet for the swim, but need to check with the family.

The 10:00 coffee shop meet up sounds good, too.

Dropped my bike off yesterday for transport.  Had a little conversation with her before leaving her at the shop--sigh!

Laundry and packing are on the agenda for the next couple of days!

And I'm number 312! Smile

#283 checking in!   There is another lady doing this race who has the exact same name as me. What are the odds?

I read through my old IM race reports today for some inspiration, and that reminded me to pick up some Tylenol PM for Wed. & Thurs. nights.  I didn't sleep well at all the 4-5 nights before IMKY and I think it was one of the main reasons I didn't have an optimal race. Need to make sleep a priority this time around.  Can't believe the race is just 5 days away now!

#324....woo hoo!

Weather is looking good so far! Still a LOT hotter than I'm accustomed to, but not too awful. I haven't packed yet either. I just can't believe race week is here. I sat around all day yesterday and watched vineman videos on you tube I guess I'm super emotional because they made me cry. Haha! I have crunched the numbers over and over again and looked at past results. I will definitely be last in my age group. However, last place is still an IM finisher. I'm just hoping I can do it with a smile on my face.

Thanks for volunteering! We couldn't do this without people like you. I'll be thanking all of you...well at the end of the run I'll probably be zombieified and can't get out words but I'll try...

Wunderground is saying 82 now for race day. That would be nice Was 98 on the way to the gym today and I think 95 inside >.> Might have been cooler to bring the weights outside and get a breeze. It's been 90+ for the past month with no rain and this week, the week I'm leaving, it's going to be in the low 80's. Funny how life is sometimes.

But that also means it will be super chilly in the AM. Make sure to stay warm before the race and maybe put some disposable arm warmers/gloves in T1. I have an old battered pair of arm warmers which I will put on in T1 and discard later during the day when it gets warmer.

I used a pair of long socks that I have used for a half-marathon. Cheap and throw away. I thought about a pair of Zoot icefil and not put water on them until later, but use as a layer to start. I have white pair of pearl izumi sun sleeves for the run.
