Randee, one thing that may help is tilting the saddle. Try it nose down and, oddly enouh, some people have good luck with nose up. As a dude, I think that would NOT be helpful, but some folks like it that way. If you do this sort of thing, work in small increments. Remember that if the nose is too far down, you may end up fighting to stay on the seat due to sliding down. I think this is one part of the "seat search" that is often overlooked.

One aspect of the Adamo that I have found interesting is how very little of the seat I use when in an aero tuck. I am really far forward on it. Really far. It took a few rides to adjust (read that as toughen up) to that position, but now I am comfortable sitting there. YMMV, Good Luck!!!

I'm sure you've addressed this but I'll throw it out there anyway.  I was getting significant discomfort on one side when my seat was just slightly twisted to the side.  I bumped it the other way a bit and it cleared right up.  Maybe you're just asymetrical and need to have your seat not exactly centered side to side?

unfortunately on my tri bike you can't mount the saddle askew - because if you could, I would and that would probably help! Thanks though Sounds like so far I'm the only freak that doesn't like the cutouts!

It's ok, we still like you.

Seems like there's a Calming Manatee for every situation!!

I ride with one group of guys rarely, due to the fact they are REALLY strong riders. None have cutouts, as a matter of fact most use the Specialized Romin saddles. A few different ones, but all in that family, no cutouts. Except Tattoo Frank, who uses a carbon saddle like this:

BTW, this discussion made me go look and there is always this option:

I'd love to be setting up in transition and see one of these.

LOL I LOVE the looks of those carbon saddles but my hoo haa cringes at the thought! I need a little padding at least! LOL

I have a fizik in the mail - I picked that one because I know the mens' version Arione is popular with no cutout.

Maybe I'll try the Vflow and give Cobb one more shot.

Thanks

Several of the folks that I ride with use the classic Brooks saddle.

Mary, I think it is either a privacy setting or if you have a title on your Blog. Not sure which or if it is both.

ETA: Title can be added under Settings\Training Log Settings\ General Log Settings.

Ha!  I had the EXACT same reaction to seeing that saddle, and some inward cringing definitely happened..

Good luck with the saddles, I went through a bunch as well, but ended up as a lover of the Adamo.

So, one of us that I know of successfully looked for some sponsorship. And at least one other has some other sponsorship. If anyone else is interested, Rev3 is looking:

There's at least one BTer that was on their race team last year and LOVED it, and was something that I was looking at for this year before the Betty Designs thing came through...  maybe I should look again for next year???

Learning to do conformation isn't all that hard and you're lucky that you picked a breed that doesn't require much grooming.  I showed Welsh terriers when I was a kid and it was mainly a matter of learning which way to go in the ring and how to show off the dog's good points while disguising any weaknesses.  Going to a few shows, talking with handlers you can trust to not sabotage you by giving bad advice, and taking a few classes, if available, can be a great help.  Funny story:  my first time in the ring was with a AKC champion.  She know what she was doing better than I did.  Much to my parents' amusement, I went around the ring the wrong direction and she insisted on stacking facing the other way no matter how many times I turned her around.  I was about 9 and *completely* mortified.  Luckily, the judge was very kind and overlooked my gaff.  After taking a few classes, I had a much better handle on what I was doing!!  Good luck!!  And good luck with the race too.  Both sounds like wonderful goals.

Oh I didn't explain myself very well. I know how to do confirmation showing, its more about how to train my dogs to self stack and stand still because once a mastiff decides how they are going to stand it is hard to move them.

Oh.  Duh.  Of course you know how to do that.  You have way too many mastiffs to just be a newbie in that arena!

SMOOOOOOSHYFACE of STACE FACE

I can't wait to meet her. Wanna bring her to our Perth wedding celebration (Dec 14)? I'll be in town most of Nov-Dec and then again late Jan to early March, though.

Add me to the group that totally wants to smoosh that sweet face!  (and maybe sneak in a few cuddles too - what a CUTIE!)

Randee - I love that out of everything you're most concerned about the Garmin data sync!   I still only use my trusty Timex Ironman watch that really doesn't do anything other than tell time and can be used as a stopwatch.  Maybe I should think about an upgrade??

Hello all! I am stalking the group but not responding much. I am getting back into the swing of full training and counting down weeks until I head home. Did 1.5 hrs on the bike today, felt good.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
