Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Doug and Linda do you guys not subtract the customary 20-30 seconds from your 100 time when you submit them to a race. That seems to always be the sweet spot for me. I never get passed and almost never have to pass when I do that. I would prefer to put my exact 100 time but no one else seems to so that was the only way I could figure out how to get in the right spot. |

My daughter ran it as her first race and came in 2nd in her age. I am proud of her and I hope she gained some confidence today! My pool is closed for the next week so I will have to hop on the bike tomorrow and put in more biking miles. Linda Let me be the 1st to say Congrats!!! |

Maybe even a bit of swimming. Really looking forward to this coming weekend. Should be quite inspiring. Tracy - are we really going to sign up for 2011? Going to be a fun car ride. 3&5 year old travellling 6-7 hrs. bring on alvin & the chipmunks, Dora, Care Bears. Oh ya good times!! Should have the computer out there to keep tabs on your guys! |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hey everyone! It's been awhile since I've contributed to the group, but just wanted to quickly pop in and say thanks for all of the support, advice, info, etc. Being a golf pro, this is my busy time at work, then throw IM training on top of that, it leaves very little time for anything else. Whatever little slivers are left are spent with my family. I hope everyone is doing well. Hopefully I can jump back in to the group after all this is over next week. I'll be thinking about everyone when I toe the line in Louisville this Sunday. Thanks again. You guys rock! |

My account was compromised to the tune of over $300. It was through Paypal so I have protection. The security/fraud department at PP said this is not an isolated incident. |

You can go over for the week without too much backlash but increasing your long run by more than 10% will tax your body too much. |

I'll let you bring up the rear! Or maybe we should put my husband back there if he decides to crash the party... (I've invited him...) HUSBAND RANT ON: So packing for the trip, Dave wonders aloud, "Should I bring my running water bottle?" I told him loud and clear, "I am NOT carrying water for you. Do what you think is best." (I carried his water last year on Kona and tired of it quickly.) Fast forward to my 17-mile run on Saturday (I'll leave out the part about me sharing water on our first run). Dave joins me for 10 miles (planned for 8). After about 4-5 miles he asks for a sip of my water. Of course I will share. So later on I just end up giving him one of my 10oz. bottles. Not a huge deal -- I figured I'd be fine water-wise so that's why I offered it. I did end up that run bone dry of all of my liquids and wanting for more... Today we head out for 6 miles. I gave him a 10oz. bottle and said, "Here, you might want to bring your own water." So he fills it up (good boy!) and on the elevator he notices I'm wearing my fuel belt and only have two of my bottle-holders filled. He asks very nicely if I'd carry his. What am I gonna do? Say no? I'm not that mean! So I carry his damn water, and the first time he asks for it I just tell him to carry it. OK, water rant over. The main reason I don't run with Dave is that he has this habit of running about 10 feet in front of me and it drives me CRAZY!! When we trained for a marathon together 12 years ago he did all of the long runs like that... all of them! Running the same pace as me but always in front. Arrrrgh!! So today he's pulling that $#!% again... Forget that! I stop in the shade and put on my tunes, knowing I'm finishing this run alone. I run on and see he didn't stop or slow at all, so for grins I look at the Garmin to clock how long it takes him to notice I'm not there. SEVEN TENTHS OF A MILE!!! Then he stops and makes some comment about being a bad pacer. I just said, "No, I just stopped to put on my tunes since I'm running by myself anyway." And so we finish our run, with him about 20 feet in front of me the rest of the way. Whatever. HUSBAND RANT OFF. So what happens on the MG stays on the MG, right?? Cuz if Dave joins us on Friday for the trail run and anyone rats me out for griping, I'll be really sad. Or I'll just make sure he stays home, but that's no fun, is it??!! Life in Hawaii continues to rock. Great diving (well, lots of boat mishaps but we've made the most of each one), awesome fish tacos (found the bestest little joint and have eaten there 4 out of the last 5 days -- the owner loves us!), get to see my sis/bil again tonight (she's been on Lanai for the past few days)... IT'S ALL GOOD!!! (Even the running, even with my husband!! Ha ha!) Gotta catch up on a whole bunch of RRs. But congrats to everyone for being so strong and awesome!!!!! |
