Matt- I'm so sorry about your loss. And, no, I don't think it's corny at all that you felt your Uncle's presence on the mtb.

Great job to all the Army 10 milers!!!

I am in for a challenge, as long as it doesn't cut into the 240 miles I'm supposed to run this month. Ha ha... the 240 isn't going to happen so I'm aiming for 175. I did get in an 18 miler Saturday, followed by 8 on Sunday. It actually didn't feel too bad considering it was about half the miles I ran in the entire month of September Embarassed

Trevor where are you. You can't let a remark about skirts go by the wayside. Don't tell me I am going to have to support the northern link on here now.  Oh and suzy I believe what you are referring to is called a kilt not a skirt and sometimes when it gets kind of cool here (-30 or better) we would even consider wearing something under them. Probably something like a VERY large legwarmer

NICE!!!

I am in for November/December..... I would even be up for a "RUN GOAL" this month.... Say I am going to run "X" amount of miles, or "X" amount of time... Team within' the closest of their goal wins?

Awsome job on the miles Roni.   I am definitely trying to up my miles over the next couple of months, but can't fathom 175.

I like it.  Can we do the swim challenge in November and the virtual tri in December?

BTW John, where in the world do you get your QUOTE video links?  What is the story behind the latest one?  You can still see air bubbles on the plants.  How is the water not filled with silt?  I love it.  Looks cold though.

Works for we.  What does everyone else think?

A buddy from grad school sent the video.  It was filmed in Green Lake, Upper Styria, Austria, in Northern Austria.  This meadow dries up every fall and then floods in the spring.  Funny thing is videographer wrote that the night before this was shot it rained so the there is lots of pollen in the water.  Clarity could have been much better...amazing!  Water temp was 5-6 degrees C.

Nov swim challenge and Dec virtual tri works for me.  Nov is going to be my swim focus month.  I'll get the spreadsheets set up.  Suzy is in... She doesn't have a choice, I'll take the stuff out of her logs and put it on the spreadsheetTongue out

Tony is such a bully!  I'll man up and do the flippin' November challenge (why won't Trevor man up again? oh yeah he is busy ironing his kilt).....to the team that gets stuck with me just remember I have so many other good qualities like my charming personality and I did try to opt out!

Did my first VO2 Max workout on the bike today using MultiRider.  Loved it.  Thougt I might toss up my breakfast a couple of times, but then remembered my CT was plugged in!  Eeeew.

PS We might have a person join the group who is new to BT. I told her to read a few posts and see what she thought....stay tuned.

I'm in too and would be in favor of something along the lines of a multi-sport challenge like they have in the, believe it or not, challenge forum.  Pick your sport(s) and goal for the month.  Winning team is the one that comes closest to reaching that goal - this way, time/speed is not an issue for those working on other offseason excuses, er, endeavors.

Oh, and before Suzy asks... I am racing my first Olympic this weekend! Tracy's husband is in it too, but I doubt I'll see him on the course as he is too fast. My family is coming to watch this one.

I'm in for anything you guys decide to do.  I am heavily into marathon training right now, though, but I think I can make it fit into my crazy schedule.

I'm tired today, guys, just had a hill repeat workout and am very happy to have a rest day tomorrow.

I'm in for the Dec/Nov thing.

My wife and I just started the interview portion of the NYC preschool application chaos..   Today we had our 1st out of 12 parent/family interviews (yes we're applying to 12 schools).  After the parent/family interviews it's my 2 yr old's turn..  We have at least 2 preschool events every week until the end of Jan.  Nothing but fun..

BTW has anyone ever: 1) had a good work out, 2)took a nap, 3)woke-up with a migraine and 4) threw up until you had nothing in your system?  Last Friday I had a good workout and felt great after.  I took a quick nap and woke-up with the worst migraine..  It was the weirdest thing, I drank plenty of liquids after the workout.  My last 2 workouts after the incident have been horrible..

Sorry Trevor I tried to defend you but Suzy is all over you like a fat kid on a box of smarties and I am not getting on the wrong side of her. Besides I want to be on the same team as Suzy for the challenge/s.  I might have a little trouble with the run challenge because of my siatic but I'll MAN UP and take it on. As for the swim I thnk I can put in some good time to improve my times.

Tony, Doug or other bike gurus......

I may have hit a snag in the bike purchase--dreaded standover given the top tube is straight not angled.  I don't really know how to measure this, but I basically stood over my bike and figure I have about 27.5 inches of clearance and absolutely no more.  Is the chart below in mm? if so, I think that is only 698mm of clearance and I need 716.  Am I right?
