Website doesn't say yet.  The race was the same day as IMMOO this year.

I have to complete a half before I can register for that

X4 but without all the blinking, dancing, smiley thingys!!!! Congrats!!!

George I don't think you have to COMPLETE a 1/2 Ironman before signing up, but you need to (or should) do one before your Ironman.... If I recal Mr. Perovich signed up for Canada having never done a TRIATHLON period.... So stop with the excuses and get it done (insert dancing smiley face!)

And yes, Birdy convinced me to sign up for IMC without ever having done a triathlon. When I got in the water that morning, I'd done three: a sprint, an Olympic, and a half, all in the previous three months...

SOS isn't an IM event.  To register you have to have proof of completing a 70.3 or 140.6 under a certain time...so I won't be registering for 2011.

IM isn't on my to-do list yet.  Not until the kids get a lot older!!!

Edit - SOS looks like a great race for you though Birdy!!!

Great event, I've seen parts of the run and swim.  I heard the toughest part is the swim, mainly because people lose their shoes..  I also heard of people tipping over during the major bike climb and walking because they couldn't mount the bike.

That looks cool, definitely on my radar now.

Stan I have heard the same thing about that race.... You need to carry your shoes with you on the swim!?!  Looks like a blast though!

No race this weekend......just driving and spectating a cc meet!   NEXT weekend I race the Santa Cruzy oly - my second oly, and my first ocean swim.  I am a bit nervous about the ocean, gotta admit.  6 weeks until the SV marathon, last shot at a BQ for next year. 

Just put my 17 y/o on a plane to Texas....watch out, Tx......he's a CA athlete rep to the USA Swimming convention!

Oh - and I signed up for IMMOO '09 with no tri experience or training - don't know if I would have made it if I knew what I was doing in advance!! 

many might argue the toughest part is just getting into the race!

Speaking of tri experience, when we were at the IM WI Dinner/Meeting on Friday night, Mike Reilly started talking about 4 people who were doing IM WI on Sunday that had never done a triathlon.  He made them get on stage.  He told them he tought they were crazy and should have started with a shorter distance, but wished them well.  On Monday at the awards ceremony he asked those same people to stand and there were three in attendance.  Two finished in roughly 16+ hours and one 24 year old girl finished in 12:40.  Both of the men said they were never doing another tri again!  The girl? she was pumped.

With only 150 slots, I guess that would be true.

I did see that you could have "purchased" and entry to this year's race with the $300 registration fee and a $1000 donation...

Hmmmmmm......the girl?!?  What's our boy-to-girl ratio in our MG for IM races in 2010 and/or 2011?!?!

Horrible pictures, but whatever. :-) See at the finish line (barely missed the heel click.. *wah*), and see the woman behind me, I sped pass her. LOL!  Run photo...eck!!!!

LOL, so I went to my first cross practice this AM.

Very hard on the ego to be so far behind everyone on the simulated race laps.  We're talking like walkers behind the fast runners in a running race type far behind...

But it was pretty cool, need to do some work on the bike to get it set up right for me.

It's very different from anything I have done before.

Kudos to you, Tony, for taking on a new challenge!

Come on down to NC! There are 2 HIM early in 2011: The White Lake Half and the Washington Half. On was in late April (24th) and the other May 1 this year. I have raced both venues and they are both great! LInda, Tracy and I will be good hosts too.

Hey Suzy- I am thinking about White Lake this year as well.  It should work great with my schedule.  I have heard nothing but exceptional things about it.  Not to mention you get to experience a Setup Events Race.  They are awesome!
